Still you can be anonymous and bully but people don't do that here
No one will like that anon, and they will have to make a new one if they ever want to be liked. Maybe it will change in time.
Also I think many are here for a shared purpose. We are also not being activated by an algorithm feeding us all of the negativity, so we actually enter discussions from a non activated place.
And a lot of people are learning a fairly technical new way to discourse. There is humility in that.

it is about competition, when bullies enter the free competition witthout regulations and without censorship they need to do their shit better to affect somebody and this requires a lot of effort and work to deliver so there are less bullies and less spam. free market works like this too, better products came up when there are not government or centralized flavours truffing the competition.
True. I’d say it’s got something to do with how 98% of us are into Bitcoin and thus root for the same team. We’ll see if it’s still like this when and if people who think differently join us. It’s easier to be anonymous here than on Twitter, so I’m not particularly optimistic about things staying this way forever. Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong though.

The current method of onboarding helps, it shows new users how to act. Zaps help too, provide positive reinforcement and letting you know when you are being a positive part of the community.
Nostr is also small relative to other places, so it still has a fairly cohesive community. Most users here are working on creating new things, and that creates positive energy.

I think its partially just the people that have migrated here early are respectful and forward thinkers, but I suspect its also just the way the clients don't try to subconsciously manipulate people and bombard them with adds. People get angry when being manipulated by social media to be addicted and when in a walled garden its in their advantage to do so. More anger means more "engagement" even if its shallow...

True but think of the feeling we all got when we first came here. It feels freeing to not be protected from other people and you actually feel you are engaging with a person. Its refreshing to see all sides of issues and people discussing them instead of being in echo chambers and being feed issues that the algorithm knows will enflame you
We are a small tribe with similar values. This may change in the future with if there are lots of newcomers

it is so precious, unique and uplifting.

in my latest reflections I thought...
if nostr just keep on being this Pura Vida, love and mutual respect vibration then the negative opposite would simply not want to be here... they will get disgusted and repelled by it...
so all we need to do is keep on blasting love, positivity, wisdom, caring, etc...
