There’s a discussion right now on whether Argentina should adopt the dollar as its official currency or not.

As an international relations scholar, my main concern is that adopting the dollar at a time when most countries are drifting away from that currency could prove to be yet another strategic error in Argentina’s record.

However, it’s staggering how the opposing side has no alternative proposition whatsoever - they’d rather not do anything about the inflation at all. The so called “progressives” would rather keep the most regressive tax of all until we dollarize de facto. Out of empathy for the poorest, even I would rather have Argentina adopt the USD 🤦🏻‍♂️

A friend of mine insists that Bitcoin Cash will be to Bitcoin what silver is to gold. He says that the LN is too centralized and that it won’t scale as the Bitcoin price goes up.

Well, its price is behaving like silver’s did relative to gold so I’ll give him that lol

I gave Chat GPT a list of countries asking if all the so called EU28 were present. It said yes. There were 24 countries in that list and one of them was Switzerland 🤦🏻‍♂️

I get more time to do stuff that pays better or that I like, that’s the end point. Time that would otherwise be spent correcting text or wasted in a writer’s block, because the AI is obviously not able to write the thesis and if it could I’d be writing something else. It’s a tool.

It’s helping me write a thesis in record time and taking out shitty work off my plate so I can be more productive. Why give that up?

The whole “only eat meat”, “avoid seed oils” and other dietary debates seem to stem from how hard it is to find reliable truths these days.

It’s like as if we’d been kept in the dark for millennia until the internet came. And it was great for a while but now we’re flooded with information and professionals are hard to trust. So we either trust anyway or do our own research with whatever tools we have. And if we do the latter, we risk fooling ourselves into unhealthy decisions out of lack of professional preparation.

I find this state of affairs kind of depressing.
