I leave Nostr for about 3 weeks and I come back to a sweet UI improvement on Damus. Awesome.
What’s been going on lately? Can anyone bring me up to speed?
I passed. It’s been 6+ years, but no more final exams for me.
What’s driving the Bitcoin price upwards?
A: Fundamentals at work (money printer go brrrrr).
B: Bailout announcement.

I’ve never had so many setbacks before an exam in my life and yes I’m counting the world economy almost going to hell in that list.
Must be something about it being the last one (hopefully).
Thanks mate! I will when the time comes
It’s definitely in my To Do’s, along with running my own Bitcoin node.
Not yet. But it doesn’t seem to be sustainable from the looks of it:

I have two big concerns about Nostr:
1) That it won’t scale (all relays will drop notes that are X months/years old).
2) That it will become an eco chamber.
Does anyone else have similar concerns?
True. I’d say it’s got something to do with how 98% of us are into Bitcoin and thus root for the same team. We’ll see if it’s still like this when and if people who think differently join us. It’s easier to be anonymous here than on Twitter, so I’m not particularly optimistic about things staying this way forever. Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong though.
Hey hey, you asked for a term for what stablecoins pretend to be, not for what they are 😂
The price of BTC’s going up due to the bailout rumors?
God we’re so fucking early.
Hey economics savvy people, ELI5: how can we lower the spread between selling and buying price for Bitcoin?
Losing 4% when exchanging for fiat* in centralized exchanges is a big barrier to adoption by small businesses where I’m from IMO.
* - Yes, businesses need to convert back to fiat, they have costs that must be paid in fiat. Sad but true. Let’s do something about it.
Wow! How do you plan to deal with that? Can you just drop old notes? And if so, what happens if all relays follow that strategy? Will that mean that notes that are too old will be lost forever?
Hey tech savvy people, ELI5: how come relays don’t run out of space with all the notes we’re publishing?
I understand that none of them are storing large files, hence why we upload images and paste the links instead, but still, all of those notes must weigh something, right?
Reading how the FED played a role in the SVB crisis reminded me of this masterpiece. Old but gold.
