This one is using the RAK4631 so is Nordic. I’ve noticed they are seem a lot more power efficient than the esp32 devices I have.

Much much more energy efficient. I learned the hard way with the esp32, but the rak stuff seems good. That said, I still have my repeater parts in a box on my shelf.

Trying this cheap ($26 Australian) USB-C solar panel for charging my Meshtastic node. The battery went from 43% this morning to 56% on a partly overcast day so I think it might work well enough but will be interesting to see how it goes over winter. #meshtastic

Are you using an esp32 or Nordic device? The esp32 is way too power hungry for a solar install.

I learned today that you can tin foil hat mode disable the MK4’s NFC functionality by taking a knife and fucking up this little line where the microSD card slot is.

Just spent my morning walk listening to Peter McCormack on What Bitcoin Did grill the CEO of Grayscale. Peter didn't hold back. Told Sonnenshein he didn't believe he didn't know about all the unethical practices being undertaken. Well worth a listen.

Nostr is very very cool…but…we’re a long way from normies wanting an unfiltered, decentralised social network which doesn’t have all their favourite famous peeps.

Bitcoiners will naturally have a love for Nostr because it fits with their worldview and understanding.

Like educating the benefits of Bitcoin, Nostr will have the same challenges. Zaps, nPubs etc… won’t mean much to most people.

For now it’s a super cool Bitcoin chat room.
