I deactivated my X account due to a privacy issue I was having.
The issue being that my feed (on my pseudonymous account) started serving me local tweets, despite having all location data hidden (according to my settings). When I say local, I mean, a guy that lives 10 doors up from me, followed by a post from the mayor of my hometown. That certainly can't be coincidence.
I don't mind seeing their posts, but it's indicative of precise location data making it into the algo, and likely means the guy up the street, and people in my area are seeing my posts too. Deactivating my account temporarily was the surest way to get my posts off their feeds.
I have never once mentioned my precise location, always ensuring to obsure those details in one way or another. I don't even use a local phone number.
The only thing I can think of that might explain this was that I posted about the eclipse when it started, which would have given away my geographical location to the algorithm, but it shouldn't have been that precise.
2 years ago, I didn't know how crypto worked, what Linux was or how to code. I always loved technology, but always found "better" things to do than to immerse myself in it. I honestly wish I had sooner. This is definitely where I belong.
I already have the images for the training, as I've been generating/creating one nearly every day for shibemag for 6 months and only selecting the ones I like. So, I have a pretty decent handle on the training data element.
I have successfully automated the creation process for 4-panel comics using a combination of python scripts, imagemagick and (temporarily) calls to a free dog picture API.
Now I just need to train an image generator to generate images in a very specific style, and add this into the pipeline (replacing the current dog picture api thing) and hopefully then I'll have a comic generator.
This last part will take some time.
imagemagick is fricken excellent
Conversion to AVIF took longer than I expected but it reduced the size of the image by 31% when compared against the JPEG.

You prolly shouldn't render things in your wallet.
Growing very tried of X. Once my suspension is up, I'll probably say a few things and pack up. Maybe I'll journal my thoughts on here a bit, even if it's just into the void.
I'll say 3-4, actually. That's my preference anyway. Just enough information, but not too much as to overload the brain. Maybe 2-3 links for further reading too, just in case I feel like peeping down the rabbit hole.
The best articles have 9-11 short paragraphs and take no more than 3 mins to read.
Microsoft Edge has just added AVIF and AV1 file fomat support.

The cryptocurrency service you provide will only generate revenue so long as the currency remains viable, and so, accepting it is a no-brainer if you want to stay in business. π
hit something on the highway and blew my fricken tire. ffs.
Unbiased reporting doesn't exist, but a publication can cover a number of perspectives to try and achieve balance. Unfortunately, readers might not like this model because the content might not always align with their beliefs. Readers accustomed to having their viewpoints reflected and reinforced may find balanced reporting dissonant, leading to dissatisfaction or mistrust in the media outlet.
An alternative to balanced reporting is catering to a specific audience with a particular opinion. The issue here is this has great potential to create an echo-chamber (see The Atlantic, New York Times and even Tucker Carlson). The risks of echochambers are the radicalization of readers and perpetuating conflict with people of opposing viewpoints.
I wish this was easy, but it's not, and it can't be, unless I choose to stop caring.
Hard truth is that explicitly ignoring and dismissing opinions of others breeds an atmosphere of intolerance and hatred, because it prevents the development of understanding and empathy between different groups.
When people feel unheard, marginalized and/or excluded, it leads to more polarization and conflict, not less.
