nostr:npub1nq47mdlx0scyxd5x8yfauw2gmeg6g7kzw862ztp0kqynsyjyqjxsy5xza6 I'm exactly on the same page! Coincidentally I hold pretty much the same view on other Directors too. Including, maybe controversially, Lucio Fulci.

nostr:npub1s7stamhrea9z0xsxyafyqmw3dsx9gamlxjy8k6g7rhgzl8tlql2q2yypst Same. Though I absolutely adore the whole crypts, cobwebs and candelabras thing too.
Films that really deserve a Blu-ray release #6:
They Have Changed Their Face (Corrado Farina, 1971). Preceding both Hammer's Dracula AD 1972 (Alan Gibson, 1972) and The Satanic Rites of Dracula (Alan Gibson, 1973), this Italian vampire outing eschews the cobwebs and candelabras formula in favour of a zeitgeisty 70s. Here, in an unfairly overlooked Italian horror, vampire myth is deployed for a corporate allegory. Adolfo Celi stars.

nostr:npub1zrcs2rrkx9e59vttdk9js53wk6ly3zxk9spltl7j87utdluxy2cs6h45gt An essential film. Really cannot recommend this one enough. Dvd is still available too at a reasonable price.

Films that really deserve a Blu-ray release #5: The Devils (Ken Russell, 1976)
Yes, the film is provocative. Yet, with sets by a young Derek Jarman, it is a triumph of mise-en-scène. A masterpiece. There's absolutely no excuse for
Warner Bros, in a crime against art, withholding it. If the world can handle Salo it can handle The Devils. If it can handle Pasolini it can handle Russell. So, with that said, shout it loud—Release The Devils!!!

nostr:npub16wsxcw956yy5tl8em50epa23wg3atn59r8fxal9xk38r3yyjl7ashr03ry there’s a few private bit torrent trackers out there that post some of those. Some even “fan subbed”
nostr:npub19rz6kgeprpzfsgrmdduthprap0tl8f7xktye246rq90ufe9wywhsm4gwxf Yeah.. That's the fansubber I used to correspond with. He used to share on Cinemageddon back in the day. Think he stopped when "Grey Market" sellers started profiting from work he was doing as a labour of love. While I no longer have any doing with trackers—as they started to take away some of my enjoyment of the physical collecting side of all this—I recall his work was fantastic and he took great effort to capture the essence of Franco and Ciccio's intricate wordplay.
nostr:npub16wsxcw956yy5tl8em50epa23wg3atn59r8fxal9xk38r3yyjl7ashr03ry I am surprised that every Fulci isn’t on Blu yet! Oddly, I’ve not seen Red Monks, but am adding it to my list now!
nostr:npub19rz6kgeprpzfsgrmdduthprap0tl8f7xktye246rq90ufe9wywhsm4gwxf Certainly agree on Fulci. I used to be in touch with a bloke who'd written English subtitles for his comedies and rock n roll films. Opened my eyes too so much more about the director and the realisation that many of the director's best films have never had English friendly physical media releases.
nostr:npub16wsxcw956yy5tl8em50epa23wg3atn59r8fxal9xk38r3yyjl7ashr03ry too bad. Still some solid gems left there
nostr:npub19rz6kgeprpzfsgrmdduthprap0tl8f7xktye246rq90ufe9wywhsm4gwxf I've got Door to Silence and Red Monks as top of my blu ray want list. The former may be in with a shout as anything Fulci seems to sell.
nostr:npub16wsxcw956yy5tl8em50epa23wg3atn59r8fxal9xk38r3yyjl7ashr03ry now if only his Arcane Sorcerer would get a Blu-ray!
nostr:npub19rz6kgeprpzfsgrmdduthprap0tl8f7xktye246rq90ufe9wywhsm4gwxf Definitely a candidate for Severin. Or 88 Films UK. Not too many distros seem interested in later Italian genre film, sadly.
Films that really deserve a Blu-ray release #4: The House With Laughing Windows (Pupi Avati, 1976)
In my humble opinion, The House With Laughing Windows represents the very best of what the giallo filone has to offer. That it's yet to be picked up by any distributor remains a real puzzle to me. There may be perfectly valid reason why this is the case. But it better be a good one and, besides, you know what? I don't want to hear it!
