Got it. But I guess this is good to have for the general, and as a developer this is not a priority for me.

The good side of having an old laptop is you have to optimize the code you're developing otherwise you can't work

-THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE-

The “Evil Eye” is an ancient and near universal concept found in many cultures, believed to be a form of harmful energy cast through a glance filled with envy, jealousy, or ill intent.

This focused, negative energy whether conscious or unconscious can disrupt a person’s energetic balance, leading to misfortune, fatigue, or emotional imbalance.

Its roots trace back to ancient Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian traditions, yet the archetype of the powerful, destructive gaze appears throughout the world, where the eye has long been seen as a vessel of both perception and influence.

The methods of protection vary across cultures, yet they share the same purpose to deflect or absorb this harmful influence. Among the most well known protective symbols are the Hamsa hand, the blue Nazar bead, and red or black thread bracelets, all worn as amulets to shield the wearer.

In many traditions, salt and smoke (from sage, frankincense, or myrrh) are used for energetic cleansing, and ritual practices are performed regularly to maintain spiritual protection. These are not only acts of defense, but also tools of awareness, guiding us back to intention, presence, and spiritual clarity.

In modern psychological terms, the Evil Eye can be seen as a metaphor for unconscious projection when others cast their unresolved fears, envy, or inner conflict onto us. If we are not self aware, we may absorb these projections and allow them to shape our sense of self or emotional state.

True protection, then, lies not only in outer symbols, but in inner work, self reflection, energetic integrity, and the ability to remain anchored in our own light even under the shadow of external judgment. In this way, the Evil Eye becomes not just a threat, but a hidden teacher, calling us inward, asking us to remember where our real power resides.

well, I just bought a 10GB disk + 500GB/month bandwidth with MariaDB support from a local hosting company for 10$/year. They offered a free .online domain on top of that.

You don't have to be a rich go developer to build a high end nostr relay. You can host your nostr relay in a cheap, shared host with a ordinary mysql/sqlite database.

Now it is possible with Phatru, a new library to build customized nostr relays in PHP, architecture is inspired by Khatru (https://github.com/fiatjaf/khatru).

Go (no puns intended) check it out at https://github.com/dhalsim/phatru and give some comments.

I couldn't get an API credentials for an Instagram business account. I was obliged to create a Facebook account first which I deleted a few years ago. You can't create an anonymous account, you have to give your real name. After doing a captcha puzzle that tested my IQ, I was asked to take a web cam picture. It's not just a picture though. You need to turn your head around: left right up and down.

After doing all of that my account immediately got suspended and it was automatically "Appealed". Now I got a new email from facebook that my review is unsuccessful and my account is permanently disabled.

Long story short, Facebook is crazy, nostr is a gift. It's a shame that almost no one uses or even knows about it.

All we can do is keep using it and building on it. Once you taste the freedom, you can't go back.

An interesting topic, maybe nostr:nprofile1qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qqsyvrp9u6p0mfur9dfdru3d853tx9mdjuhkphxuxgfwmryja7zsvhqajv6y5 can clarify.

I joined a bunch of NIP-28 Public chats from Amethyst, but I couldn't verify it. I even checked the code to see what's happening there:`https://github.com/vitorpamplona/amethyst/blob/e10332c957df3527472c28489f0272fa31aaea2b/quartz/src/main/java/com/vitorpamplona/quartz/nip28PublicChat/list/ChannelListEvent.kt#L65`

Basically, it should have been adding the channels to a NIP-51 - List.

here is the nak command which I used to fetch my "joined" list:

`nak req -k 10005 -a 6e64b83c1f674fb00a5f19816c297b6414bf67f015894e04dd4c657e94102ee8 wss://relay.damus.io wss://nos.lol/ wss://relay.primal.net/ wss://relay.snort.social wss://relay.nostr.band wss://purplepag.es wss://nostr.bitcoiner.social wss://nostr.mom`

Which returns empty. Even it is a private list, it should return an event, right?

Am I missing something here?

Looking at rust source code makes me annoyed

Running Bitcoin Knots on my start9

Hey Obi, first of all kudos for the big first jump. Personally I'm curious about your substack experience. I get mad when I see bitcoin and even nostr people send articles from medium and similar platforms. But I want to understand why they are not switching to nostr.

Not enough network effect?

Did you know that twitch is going to shut down in a year? Do you think nostr can get some from the pie? #asknostr
