Having the interviewer try to sell the workplace to you is often good, but if the interview is boring, maybe the workplace is too
October 31st is All Hallows' Eve. The following day is the feast of All Saints, and the one after that is the feast of All Souls. Together, the three days comprehend the Church in its fullness: militant, suffering, and triumphant. There is a spirit of memento mori with a hope of the resurrection and rejoicing in those who have already run their race.
Beautiful
Christians can and should dress up in spooky costumes on Halloween. By satirizing our own mortality we boldly proclaim Christ's victory over the grave and our faith that death itself has lost its sting. We laugh and revel in the macabre in firm hope of the Resurrection.
Same here. Covid lockdowns and vaccines really shifted my conceptual horizons towards cynicism.
This is more along the lines of what I find believable. There are plenty of crooks, they're not exceptionally well-organized, but many have similar interests and are a step ahead of the public.
I think there are many different cases where those in power can and do manipulate a situation for their own gain at others' expense. The bridge I find hard to cross is believing that it's all orchestrated by some cabal rather than elites just capitalizing on chance events.
I'm often suspicious of the culture surrounding conspiracy theories, because it feels like a sort of gnosticism. I also just find the idea of an all-powerful global elite to be rather incredible.
That doesn't mean it's not true, just that it's beyond my current conceptual horizon, and that horizon has shifted in recent years.
Well the Bitcoin crowd is more likely to do civil disobedience and black markets than many other groups, by the looks of things.
Back in spring 2020 my family and I were predicting the lockdowns wouldn't last longer than a few weeks, that people would get antsy and either outright disobey or else go into the black market. We overestimated the average American, it seems. Maybe with Bitcoiners it'll be different.

I am an espresso maximalist
It feels like they were built different back then
It's the difference between gym strength and practical strength. The homesteader is practically stronger than a lot of gym rats, but he won't look it, necessarily

Gonna keep this on hand for next time I have to go on Global

Beating each other senseless for a few minutes will leave you feeling more accomplished than standing around waving signs, I guarantee it
Rather than having silly, flag-waving, sign-carrying protests in front of local capitol building, we should just settle disputes the good old-fashioned way:
With bar fights
I'm a big fan of the local Still Austin distillery. They make a high-quality bourbon and rye with some central Texas flair.
