I tell friends/family who ask for help with their Windows computer I don't even know where to start anymore.

I'm very trisexual when it comes to computers. I usually have all three major OS's on my machines (Windows, macOS, and Linux). Recently I had a bit of a snap on Linux, but I'll come back around. I'm not a fanboy or a hater. They're all three the absolute best at something. Maybe I'll dip my toe back in with Nix.

I want to try it but last time I checked it wasn't packaged in Nixos yet.

I need to try NixOS again. I'm Linux fasting right now and I'm hesitant to break my fast. LOL. The last few weeks have been so low drama! :P

I don't quite understand why this is so good. Maybe it's technical and I just need to learn more, but isn't one major reason nostr is so censorship resistant because the notes can be posted to multiple relays? I've often been confused about how the analagous dynamic could be done for video. If this is just uploading a video to one server hosted by Flare, or anybody else, doesn't have the same long term problem as any other video hosting platform? #asknostr

You can host the video wherever you want, which means self hosting is also an option. It increases censorship resistance because you can make choices about hosting your video in a place that will not remove it.

There is no real performant way to crowd host video afaik. The best we can do is make alternative hosts easier to set up and seamless for people to use.

I miss the days of phpBB and SMF.

Just want to say I am still here. I havn’t been around a couple of days because I’ve been pretty ill the last few weeks. It’s a struggle to do anything extra than the fiat job. December always gets me like this.

I’ve had to cut out cold turkey some of my fave vices , #coffee, #weed and vaping. Withdrawal is real.

Perhaps it’s all for the best, however right now it’s a struggle. Just trying to take care of me right now. I appreciate the ones who have reached out and checked on me because I’ve been quiet. I appreciate #nostr will still be here when I get back to my healthier self. 🙏💜

thx. yes. info is still fresh but already helping clients (and myself) to mitigate against it. there's good info here on this mitm attck that you can use to protect yourself until we get an update/rewrite of open ssh.
