The Intel card in my laptop performs better in both speed and stability, and supports miracast. It was $30. I’m going to get one for my desktop now that I’m not using both m.2 slots.
I agree their “business” wired switches are pretty decent little workhorses as long as you can get away with unmanaged. I have a 12 port that does a fine job.
Problem is, I’ve seen what Ubiquity gear can do now, so Im getting rid of everything else.
Netgear is utter shit.
Yet another time finding out the high end WiFi device I paid $100 for doesn’t support something basic. Fucking miracast.
It’s always a rat race. And semi is a purple cat. We love chasing rats.
Basically, but tbf, there are vast swaths of America that still has basically 0 access to the internet, much less broadband, unless they can shell out for StarLink.
The last few days living off one bar of LTE has been a good reminder though..
I’d have to change my entire lifestyle if 85mbps was all I had available. 🤣
It’s amazing how quickly I forget how far things have come and how spoiled I am.
A reminder to those of us who code things that talk over the internet:
The average internet speed globally is still not that fast. I know I tend to forget sitting here with multi-gigabit fiber around.
Imo, the article misses the mark on a few fine points. The research paper they linked is very good though.
Not surprised at all. AirDrop was never meant to be private.
He look nostr:npub12r0yjt8723ey2r035qtklhmdj90f0j6an7xnan8005jl7z5gw80qat9qrx . I tried again and got 100 WPM

Awesome score. Ironic you got 100% accuracy and typo’d in the post sharing it. 🤣

I’m back to one bar of LTE as the webs went down again about an hour ago. Wanted to support anyways. Good luck and have fun 🫂
It can be disabled, but I will likely be going with Paper anyways for the server, as it is more performant.
Work is moving forward on some game servers. Still planning Rust, Minecraft, and Valhalla.
The final stage is going to be producing transparency reports which will be posted in a GitHub repository and publicly linked to make sure anyone who plays knows exactly what services are connected, and what information will be revealed to the best of my ability.
Rust and Valhalla will likely have Steam integration, which comes with some caveats. Minecraft will be “offline” in their parlance as long as we don’t have issues, and will have less data exposure.
Personally, I have already been testing the Rust server, and it is very smooth, and the game is a lot more fun without the toxic community (as I expected).
