I have officially made one revolution around the sun without alcohol. 🥳 It wasn’t easy! Here are some takeaways from my sober year:
1. Booze is a really great distraction from dealing with hard emotions. Being sober forces you to face your emotions, which can be challenging.
2. Health is wealth. Nothing beats feeling good.
3. Better sleep leads to a good morning, and a good morning leads to a good day.
4. I am so much more productive without the distraction of alcohol.
5. I don’t need alcohol to have a good time.
6. I stay more focused on my goals when I’m sober.
7. I haven’t been sick since I stopped drinking. Could be good luck, but I’ve never been this lucky for a whole year.
8. I’ve never been more self-aware.
9. Booze breaks the bank. In this economy, it saves to be sober.
10. Drinking friends are not always your real friends.
