This was a nice weekend

True but education should give you a methodology to think, analyze and criticize information.
Lots of people forget it or even pass their degrees without assimilating the appropriate method because they are evaluated more on the knowledge rather than their thought process.
Degrees are not important, being educated is.

None of the US parties are truly considering reducing the role of government in people's life.
Trump policies have always been to increase government influence over people life.
Trump’s wall of tariffs is likely to raise prices and cause chaos for business https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/02/donald-trump-builds-a-wall-made-of-tariffs-enclosing-the-whole-us #Economicpolicy #DonaldTrump #USpolitics #Worldnews #Economics #USeconomy #USmarkets #USnews
The worst is the failing of US Institutions in balancing power.
The president doesn't have the authority to slap tariffs unless it is an emergency. Americans must wake up.

End of consumer carbon tax means cheaper gas but leaves $1.5B hole in B.C. budget: business prof

I think this is a poor decision for BC - though a logical political one.
Contrary to other provinces, BC has:
- a very clean grid.
- very limited capacity to process oil & gas.
- massive investment to export O&G, hence reducing local consumption is excellent.
- good programs to install heat pumps, buy EVs and deploy new renewable electricity generation.
Decarbonizing BC economy is not complicated, nor super expensive compared to others.

It's going to be interesting to see if people complain not getting their carbon rebate anymore.

Canada should work more with China, give ourselves options.
Even Tesla, who are the most American made cars, is worried about the tariffs.
It will be difficult to get parts at reasonable price but also that other countries will respond greatly impacting export.
Supply chains are extremely complex and some countries have very special expertise it is hard to replicate.
