The incentives to self custody already exist (rug pulls, censorship, etc) ecash isn't to scale self custody, it's to make already existing custodians better. I don't think custodians are ever going away, we just want them the be the best and most private experience.
Totally! This is why I love nostr, it's real, you get some of the bad of humanity, but so much of the good. My middle son has a good following on YouTube and discord and working on getting him to cross post more here.
