Tbf the Soviets were actually pretty decent at manufacturing stuff. A lot of good cameras and lenses (mostly ripped off from western designs but still).

You've yet to explain what is it about git that would improve with nostr.

This is always proposed (fork an app and add nostr to it) and is almost always a bad idea. It would deserve its own clients and web uis without a centralized DB. The goal is to not just rebuild another github, but instead to do it right on top of nostr.

We don't want to throw away git entirely.

I was lazy with my description and overly used GitHub as a shortcut.

Either approach works (many small apps to achieve tool set, or one cohesive project). I’m a fan of the former as well, as each can probably be used for other things too, and it would move faster.

I view posting on Twitter or Nostr the same as I have for the past 20 years. 1) I use social media as my personal blog, talking about various items and topics that I am passionate about. 2) I like to engage and form relationships with people, like yourself 😉

I do get your point though. Twitter's algorithms made it hard for people with less followers to make their content seen and for them it felt like posting into the void. That's why Stackchain was so great, you had an almost guaranteed 50 people that would see your post.

Here, we have no algorithms to hide posts, but we also don't have them to bring post to the top of the feed either. I probably missed so many good posts yesterday while I was out and about as well as over night while sleeping.
