₿itcoin geek who writes a ₿log about bitcoin and other freedom tech on the nostr. My mission is to promote bitcoin as a store of value, medium of exchange, and unit of account. https://nostree.me/bloggingbitcoin@iris.to Get notified of new blogs on [Keet](nosl.ink/TgS14vtN)

I'd bet 10,000 sats they did not use nostr.

She explains it well on this episode of blue collar bitcoin. It probably helps to havw some background knowledge of the 4% rule.

My friend's dad is a gold bug and I haven't seen him in a few years until last week.

He said, "I heard about that big bitcoin crash. Sorry about that."

I'm excited to be joining this decentralised community. nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe recommended I made it my home. Here is a substack I wrote about being a guest on a podcast in Zurich with Jeff, my career in finance and epiphanies on inflation and BTC (its ultimately a spiritual thing).

Welcome.

What if we just upload the videos to https://keet.io and paste the link to a broadcast only room ?

In eight years, I suspect you're net worth would be more if you rent than buy.

I compared my parent"s house in southern California to gold in 1989(the year they bought) Gold would have done better, so renting + stacking the difference is a better bet if your net worth is your only value.

If you live in a van and stack sats, your net worth will be even higher.

If you live in a tent and stack sats, you'll be super rich.

If you live under a bridge and stack sats, you will become as rich as you can possibly be.

Money isn't the only value though. Maybe living under a bridge means you're worth 100 million in 8 years, but owning a house means your worth 50 million. I would choose the house, because of the marginal theory of return, but value is subjective. If I was single, I would live in a van.

Guess I won't open up a lightning channel today.

My grandparents and great grandmother lived in Mill Valley. It's my favorite place on the planet.

My niece was on America's Got Talent.

There are so many better options to talk to people these days. It's a shame most people use phone numbers like it's 1924.

I used to be able to pay this online retailer in Bitcoin. If I remember correctly they used Coingate to process crypto transactions. Last week I went to make a purchase and found they had removed crypto as an option so I contacted them and told them I was disappointed I couldn't pay with Bitcoin anymore. This is the response I got:

> Hello Crizzo

> Thank you for reaching out to us, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the removal of the Bitcoin payment option. We understand your disappointment, and I'd like to provide some context.

> Back in 2014, we were excited about the possibilities of cyptocurrencies, including Bitcoin. At that time, we became one of the first major payments companies to support Bitcoin payments Our hope was that Bitcoin could serve as a decentralized substrate for online transactions, especially in regions with limited credit card penetration or high credit card fees.

> However, over the years, Bitcoin has evolved. Transaction confirmation times have increased, leading to higher failure rates for fiat-denominated transactions. Additionally, fees have risen significantly, making regular Bitcoin transactions as expensive as bank wires. As a result, the desire from our customers to accept Bitcoin has decreased, and revenues from Bitcoin transactions have declined.

> Given these challenges, we made the difficult decision to wind down support for Bitcoin payments. Despite this, we remain optimistic about cryptocurrencies overall. We continue to explore the crypto space

>If you have any further questions or need assistance with alternative payment methods, please don't hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you in other ways.

> Kind regards

> Mike

This is from affect3D.com which is a store that sells 3D animated porn. I think he may be referring to the content creators that sell stuff in the store as the "customers" that don't want to accept Bitcoin, not the people who buy the content.

Anyway it's disappointing. #Bitcoin still has a long way to go before it can be used transactionally it seems. It's still the best SoV to ever exist at least.

If only we had lightning. 😠
