I contracted marketing labor for xyz, their company was called x. That was it. Now you need ssn, name, address, ect for EVERY SINGLE ONE. Even if I b uy 100 pieces of lumber from a large scale retailer I have to send a specific form.

for anyone who doesn't know, prior to the 1099-k law, you could just give someone cash and say "contractor". Now, for everyone over $600 you pay you need to collect their id, ssn, address, ect and send it to the irs.
