I tell you, this winter has been bad. Last winter we were spoiled and it was like always 40 degrees out, but this winter, its been below freezing for like a solid 6 weeks now

I'm sorry to be announcing this so suddenly, but at the end of next month I've decided to stop hosting seal cafe.

The reason is because my financial situation has changed a lot since I first started hosting this fediverse instance, I have more bills to pay now and I find myself not posting on here enough to justify the operation costs. While I have had some people donate to me in order to keep it running (really grateful to those who have by the way) I have been hosting this instance entirely out of pocket for most of its runtime.

I wanted to make this announcement now to give my active users a chance to migrate their account over to another instance so they can preserve their TL and preferences and whatnot.

Also I'm not going to be leaving either, probably going to migrate to NCD or decayable dot ink or something.

Again, I would like to thank the people that have donated to help keep this instance running a little longer. I wish I could keep running it longer and I hope to keep seeing you on this little slice of the interwebs 🦭
