#[2] and I spent our first time in ES this past week. I’d say BTC’s adoption is pretty limited and is somewhat hit or miss if merchants will allow lightening node transactions at their stores. We found even some of those with signage that it was accepted did not in a couple of cases. That being said there are a lot of locals that are big proponents (Hope House El Zonte, bitcoin beach and Palo Verde hotel). There is also a growing adoption in San Salvador. Still lots of work to be done but like any technology it takes time. The biggest and most pleasant surprise was how safe we felt there and how incredible and welcoming the locals were!

💯 changed my perspective on El Salvador this past week during my visit. Big things on the horizon for #ElSalvador

This past week has been my first time in El Salvador, in El Zonte and El Tunco. It’s been an eye opener as an American and has broken myself and #[2] out of the standard American bias that #elsalvador is not safe. We will be back!

My first Damus post ever and I figured why not do it from the first country to ever legalize #bitcoin as legal tender all while staying in the heart of the movement… El Zonte.

Been an awesome week with my fellow partner in crime and zap master… #[2]

This has been a real treat and a true eye opener to the beauty of this country, it’s people and it’s new technological leadership in advancing our global financial freedoms.

Much love, #elsalvador #bitcoinbeach #damus #zaps

These banking failures along with deposit uncertainty are the first real exposure to the practicality of this statement since bitcoin’s inception. It’s the first time I’ve been able to put an American example behind the statement be your own bank. (Also this is my first post on Damus ever) 😎
