Wonder if you could argue that nothing is sent until the channel is closed.

Imgur and Reddit are changing their TOS, and it might impact your ability to access many photos and apps that you have in your post/upvote history.

This was a pretty good tool for scraping content if you want to archive it.

Only have something like a 75% success rate, but at least it's better than nothing.

👏👏👏👏

So happy to have another one!

Wow, nip-26 is the path to a secure Nostr experience I was hoping for. Being able to cold store a main private key is a game changing upgrade.

So many possibilities!

The most common Investing advice I hear is “Put your money in an index fund and forget about it.”

If the majority of people do that, where does that leave us?

Seems to me, it means the market loses the “wisdom” it’s supposed to have, and whatever actors aren’t in index fund are just going to be running the show.

Reading your book

#nostr idea. Instead of paying relays upfront, what if the client sent sats to the relay that gave you the content first. It would be an extremely good incentive to get things running fast and well.

A #nostr development idea that keeps kicking around in my head.

What if my private key is compromised? Is there anyway that I could get control back? If Nostr becomes big, and I had a lot of followers, this would be a really big deal.

I believe some sort of solution to this exists, as Steve Gibson developed a thing called SQRL. A neat authentication system that could replace passwords. It hasn't taken off, but it has a very elaborate setup that allows for "re-keying" your identity if you ever "lose your private key".

I'm pretty sure it boils down to this:

You have a private key that you use to authenticated yourself day to day.

You have a super secret private key that you can use to tell websites "My private key has been compromised!" Please update my public key to this new one.

Perhaps a standard for this should be added to Nostr.

The Documentation to SQRL is listed here, https://www.grc.com/sqrl/sqrl.htm The relevant idea is called "Identity Re-Keying"

I think there is a lot of wisdom in SQRL that might be applicable to nostr security.
