i have no experience with nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm hub, but i use a custodial lightning wallet for the small amounts i use lightning for at the moment
hmm good point, maybe i should consider this - though since i do much selfhosting it just felt right
Please help me understand what i am doing wrong: opening a #lightning channel with a provider in #alby hub is quite costly and it keeps getting closed after some weeks - likely due to inactivity. I don’t have enough throughput to justify burning money just to have a lightning address laying around, therefor i gave up on the idea of having this option on my donate page a little while ago… at the same time the network keeps getting hyped like it was a nonissue.
oh well, the channel was actually closed for a second time now and i am not motivated to throw more money at it..
New milestone for the #tchncs #nostr relay. At https://tchncs.de/nostr, nip-05 can be used to be added to the whitelist.
This uses #chief + #strfry and a python script i am well in over my head with xD
One annoyance is that it seems strfry must be restarted to see new entries, so the script places a file and a timer service will then restart if present.
Anyway, this seems like a good start. :)
lets see if this whitelist actually requires a restart to greenlight
one more relay test (testing chief)
relay test…
The #Lightning node for #tchncs (tchncs@getalby.com) is up again, lets see for how long the channel survives this time lol
I hope to have the relay whitelist being complimented by some sort of „pay-to-relay“ thing in the near future.
Open for #strfry plugin suggestions!
First #nostr steps are being taken, https://relay.tchncs.de is now up! 🎉
There are still some technical things to be figured out, such as performance of lmdb (strfry relay), proper ip detection in the incus container and most importantly: proper policy plugins instead of the current very simple user whitelist. :)
Also a quick Ansible playbook on this might be uploaded to Gitlab soonish.
#tchncs
trying the whitelist on strfry again

let’s try some more hashtags :)
hey #nostr – do i see correctly that pretty much no relay servers expect you as an admin to moderate any content whatsoever? i found nothing more than some ratelimiting, local feature restrictions and whitelists. this is not enough to moderate potentially harmful and illegal content.
if there are useful resources on the topic, please help me find them! :)

nice, i am certain that i used the same key to login previously, but this login at least got a different npub, off to a great start. #introduction ;)
