Should I first upgrade my umbrel home to the latest version (I believe its 1.0.3 as of now) and then follow the migration steps from the migration assistant (https://community.umbrel.com/t/how-to-migrate-from-a-raspberry-pi-umbrel-to-umbrel-home/12930) or should I first migrate and then upgrade?
Hey mate! Glad to see you upgrading to the Umbrel Home :)
We just released umbrelOS 1.0.4. Feel free to upgrade your Umbrel Home to it and use Migration Assistant. You don’t need to upgrade your Raspberry Pi (i.e. it can stay on 0.5.4, it doesn’t matter).
respect! now we just need to get rid of the tv and recliner and get 2 more
The performance depends on the hardware you use. If you have access to more powerful hardware, you can run 13B and 70B models by following the instructions here: https://github.com/getumbrel/llama-gpt
Currently it uses the Nous Hermes Llama 2 (7B). If you’re technical, you can customize the Dockerfile to run a different Llama model: https://github.com/getumbrel/llama-gpt/blob/c76225a6fc26a000fc07b074223a69b0d65b7bcf/api/Dockerfile#L6
It may just be taking a long while to download (since the app’s ~5.5GB). Also, can you confirm if you have at least 6GB of total RAM on your system?
Ah sadly we weren't able to set up Bitcoin payments with our current payment processor (Stripe) for the initial launch, but there will be a custom checkout experience for Bitcoin/LN payments down the line. We'll announce it as soon as it's available!
30 years ago Marc Anddressen sent an email proposing the HTML tag, while building the Mosaic browser.
It’s quite fascinating how the today’s equivalent of this historical moment is #[0] submitting NIPs and building #[1]

ah yes great question. it’s because you’re probably connecting wallets to electrum server and bitcoin node over tor, right? if so, you can do the same thing for the nostr relay app as well (open your umbrel via tor, then open nostr relay to see your relay onion URL). the only problem is that most nostr clients today do not support connecting to relays over tor, plus tor is slow and DDoS attacked at times so Tailscale is what we recommend
if you need an invite to arc, i have 2 more left: https://arc.net/gift/c0bf8eb9
just install arc browser and pin umbrel.local, then all apps will open in their “peek” mode feature
i have a few invites left, feel free to sign up: https://arc.net/gift/c0bf8eb9
#[0] in arc browser hits different! feels like a way more immersive OS, plus no new tab for every single app https://youtu.be/WyH7yEPRbZg
