It's easy to assume they know, but they really might not.

One of my problems with my real-world friends and semi-online friends is that I'm viewed as cold and distant. Kind of on the spectrum, one might say.

I incorrectly assume that since I like their stuff, they must know I like their stuff, which isn't always the case. Instead they're more like, "wtf is Lyn thinking?" In other words, I'm semi-retarded at personal interactions. I'd like more people to know how much I like what they do.

Online or offline, whenever it's comfortable, tell people they're doing good work. Say hi. Tell them thanks. Give gratitude.

Nostr does this better than Twitter, from my experience. Keep it up, lads and lasses.

Our bnb guests that just checked out were asking me questions about these btc stickers i have on the fridge in the cabin. Both of them had heard of btc, but didnt understand anything about it. We talked for a little while, and they used the qr codes on the stickers to learn more. I also gave them some wallet suggestions. My stickers are working! #grownostr #bnbstr

When I was running nodeless, it shocked me quite a bit to see most regular businesses were turned off by a no-kyc, unregulated payment processor. It was pretty demoralizing, that what I thought was our best feature, turned out to be a detractor. In addition to ultimately getting us in trouble with fintrac.

If I had built a non custodial zap wallet and everyone continued to use custodians, I'd feel the same way.

But ultimately the lesson I took away from this was, we need to stop building products for each other based on what is said in the bitcoin echo chamber.

We need to build Bitcoin products that are easy to use and understand for normies, even if that means making trade off that we (Bitcoin psychopaths) may find offensive - like custodians and KYC.

This is my current thesis, anyway. Maybe the market is about to teach me another hard lesson.
