Great post. Dave Chappelle seems to fit this model too IMO. — This is a comment on: https://yakihonne.com/flash-news/

He definitely tapped into a stifled desire and seemed to make an effort to support it. The problem is it’s “free speech” only on his terms. Go and try to link a Substack article over there. Probably already blocking nostr links too. I can’t say whether or not your opinion is right, but long term it will all drive to open protocols as we find out there’s no heroes in this game.

“In a later book, The Clock Of The Long Now, Stewart Brand applied the idea of shearing layers—or pace layers—to civilisation itself. The slowest moving layer is nature, then there’s culture, followed by governance, then infrastructure, and finally commerce and fashion are the fastest layers. In a loosely‐coupled way, each layer depends on the layer below.” - https://resilientwebdesign.com/chapter5/

Interesting idea because it seems like we now have the infrastructure (#Bitcoin + #Nostr) to bypass the current governance layer and feed directly into the culture layer. Seems natural then that a new governance layer will be formed to properly intermediate culture and infrastructure.

Hopefully it’s a lot smaller than the current overgrown and stifling governance layer.

First of many I’m sure 👊🏼

Couple of things here:

-you may be conflating biological sex and the concept of gender… as I understand it, trans people accept their sex (external reality) while debating their gender (internal reality) and so they seek to align them

-this internal conflict doesn’t have any direct affect on their ability to judge objective/external reality, their recall, their morals, intelligence, etc.

I personally try to evaluate each person as I meet them and try to be objective as possible. I don’t think categorizing someone with gender dysphoria as untrustworthy by default is helpful in this evaluation.

Still a beginner but my current opinions:

-Be authentic and thoughtful, let people get to know your personality and share your unique value

-zap gratuitously for things that make you say “amen”, make you laugh or help you learn something… etc

-repost great content and add your own flavor if you want (probably should zap if you’re gonna repost, seems the right thing to do)

-send/reply to GMs and GNs, make this a community… participate in your network’s discussions (not just the big accounts!)

-use hashtags selectively and only as they are relevant, but definitely do use them to help your fellow Nostriches who want specific types of content

-default sort as “latest”, check in on trending less frequently

-purple pill as many people as you can and burn the boats on other social accounts #nostronly hahaha

The idea that making music is becoming pointless is gaining traction in some circles, especially now that AI-generated content is so easy to create.

Moreover, it's a demonstrable fact that people listen to less music nowadays than in previous decades.

But what does this mean? And how does this shape our thoughts on Bitcoin-related music? Is it worth creating?

These questions may not seem important to some, but they are crucial for us. So, let’s give them 2 sats of thought.

At the heart of the musical experience is the reality that we are humans, with senses attuned to perceiving the world around us.

Because of our human nature, music is more than just a collection of pitches and rhythms; it reveals itself as a profound language that allows us to convey our thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

When we write Bitcoin music, we’re not merely producing songs—we’re sharing perspectives and challenging listeners to think critically about various issues, using music as the medium.

Can AI mimic this? Yes, to some extent. But the rabbit hole is deeper.

At the deepest level, music has a unique ability to build and strengthen individuals and communities.

It creates shared experiences and fosters a sense of belonging among listeners who connect with both the musical style and the messages conveyed.

Because of this, what we are doing is not just "making music" that could be done better by AI.

We are building connections, even if at a slow pace, with people who share similar values and visions for the future. This is what gives our purpose meaning.

Music still has the power to inspire resistance to conformity and remains culturally relevant, even if many people are bored and seem indifferent to it.

We will keep working for those who care, and will keep building the best community we can through music!

I believe…

-There’s a future where provable human created content will become more valuable. Like classic cars. Live shows will also be craved more.

-AI will never fully encapsulate the complexity and ever moving nature of analog instruments and human emotion. It will get really good, but real sound has infinite depth and resolution. Combine that with emotion- the machine will forever be chasing.

-AI ultimately a tool. Human + AI will always be better than AI only. Hopefully we can still weave magic with it as a creativity enhancer.

Great post 🤘🏼
