Stained glass restorer/creator artisan. & Hand tool woodworking. Why? Because restoring is being part of the BTC realm. Not buying sh”& that will be useless in 2 years … but like BTC will be there as an Heritage . Creating beauty through Light and Glass is being true to a code : beauty of well Made Human things. Let’s get glass crazy!

Completed .

3rd stained glass in a series of 4.

Full POS (Proof Of Sustainability) because of real POW.

If one looks closely, one can see the rebars soldered . The floral top was not releaded but was enhanced visually , because of extreme solidity, despite the looks . In the full light it will « disappear « . It’s part of the Conservation dilemma and decisions making process.

Thank you mate . Hopefully I’ll show it in the light

Almost there …

To be continued…;)

Évaluation Day , this morning . For the ones who now , look at the oval: ripped leads / rebars out of order .

Bravo you see well! This is a sh&& show. We do not KNOW WHY the leads are like that around the read flowers . After multiple brainstorming: 1) the flowers are original. 2) the leads are original. 3) the leads were opened - like we sometimes do on site - in order to insert the flowers and poorly , the leads were closed again. A technic i do often. But we do NOT understand why those flowers were done in situ . 3) one pretty logic hypothesis: the wrong colours for the flowers was originally put in, stained glass installed . And then the Client or the Master realized that they were wrong. Removing the panels would have been possible but they didn’t choose that option .

Another splendide technique . Master Perdriau , beginning of the XXth century (pre IKEA and Plastic era …)

I was deeply wondering how the colours weee created …

Post 1:

I am keeping the Mystery for Post 2)…

After partial dismantling of the sg. Painted pieces will be Conserved and protected via patrimonial epoxy or backplated glass (this has been done by a previous craftsman, 25 years ago approximately). I will glue in my case .

Next work on the table …

There is a series of sg (stained glass ) that I have been commissioned to Conserve and some to Restore . Often in my trade we have to do a mix of the different philosophy, depending on Historical values / skills of the craftsman / financials .

Restoring : if broken pieces , replace if possible & re-lead . Visual becomes more important.

Conserving : the most demanding since a vast amount of knowledge & skills most be applied . It follow rules of the SGGA / ICOMOS / Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi (CVMA). History becomes more important than visuals .

In a nutshell:))

Finished …for the future Bitcoiners. Now this one should survive another 75 years. Try that with vinyle windows …:)
