I did the same thing last year. Except financial institution A mailed the check from the US to my address abroad. That took two weeks. I received the letter and put the unopened letter in an envelope to send it to institution B back in the US. This took three months. I'm still amazed that the check actually arrived.

Prolly the 1st attempt at creating a wallet for novice non-techie users.
Oddly enough the designer also made a live mockup, which is still working today.
