So if you run your own lightning node, you do have self custody, but you can still lose your money, right? What makes the limit safe or not? Iām not sophisticated enough yet to run my own nodes.

My understanding was that most of what he was talking about doesnāt even require any changes to bitcoin, so itās kind of a moot point, since people are just going to start making that stuff anyway. There were a couple things he mentioned that would require soft forks, though.

I donāt disagree with you on the hysterics and propaganda and conspiracy about it. They obviously use it as an umbrella excuse to control the economy and peopleās lives and their solutions are authoritarian and make peopleās lives worse. I am still confused though, I donāt understand the argument that burning oil for the last 200 years wouldnāt warm the climate. From my perspective, maybe weāre even putting off an ice age that would have otherwise come, which would be a good thing. But I donāt see how burning all that oil up into the air for the last 200 years is doing nothing, when it is a gigantic change from what we did before. It certainly fucks up local air quality. Denver is absolutely disgusting, you can see a green smoggy haze for miles when you look down at it from the mountains.
