Hanging out with some very nice Node.js people like @š š¼āāļømatteocollina and @š¦jasnell.me at Node.js collaborator summit in Dublin (https://github.com/openjs-foundation/summit/issues/419)

Asking someone to find a way to trust a person in a position of power is completely inappropriate. Donāt do it.
People in a position of power should go out of their way to become trusted.
Trust must be earned. It canāt be given*. Itās a hard work, and itās an uncomfortable work. But without trust, the only way to lead is by using force, and that usually doesnāt work out in the long run.
* It can however be bridged, but only temporarily.
š¤ If Next.js were truly open (not just open code, but also open to ideas and contributions), why would @Cloudflare, @Netlify, and @SST_dev be joining forces to collaborate on OpenNext? āļø
My personal goal for this week is to learn to make a great old fashioned at home.

Got three bottles to experiment with:
- Woodford reserve
- Horse soldier
- Mitcherās straight rye
Horse soldier is winning so far!
šŗšø I voted, have you? ā³

I absolutely love it when I come up with (what I think is a good) idea and my team comes back with an even better solution! Go team!
Itās forever going to be Twitter for me. Even after I stop using it.

One huge learning from @ViteConf this year is that prerecorded talks are much harder to do than live talks. The lack of audience to connect with and the pressure to not messing up too much because the async audience is less forgiving (I think) makes it a much harder endeavor that what I expected.
This was my first prerecorded talk ever and I learned a lot from it.
One highlight is that sli.dev is amazing! Iām be using it a lot going forward! Thank you @antfu7 & the crew for making it.
This years @ViteConf was such a blast! Itās hard to think of a conference that can pull in so many quality speakers & talks! Thank you for having me!
The slides from my talk āBuilding web polyliths with Viteā: igor.dev/viteconf24

Iām super excited to be joining many excellent speakers at @ViteConf tomorrow!
I recorded a talk on how @vite_js v6 enables us to build web polyliths, and kicks off the end of the era of web monoliths.
A BIG SNEEZE ruined one of my takesā¦š¤§šš¤¦āāļøš

This is a must watch talk for everyone in the frontend tooling space. Very well executed. Thank you, @devongovett!
I see a new wave of innovation in the build/transform/ci/cd dev ecosystem starting to swell on multiple fronts in the frontend/Web space.
This wave will be awesome and will allow us to leave behind many dev practices that have been driving me crazy for years.
Letās get ready for some fun! šš
This is one of the most educational videos Iāve seen in a long while!
Key principles to winning in the game of life:
1. Be nice
2. Be forgiving, a bit more forgiving in fact
3. Donāt be a push over
4. Be clear / transparent / predictable
Iāve heard bits and pieces about the history of the game theory and prisonerās dilemma before but Iāve never really dug deep into it until I came across this video by chance. So fascinating!
Whoa! While I traveled back home from Austin, my amazing team turned scaffolding and deploying an OpenNext Cloudflare app a single command. Just run:
npm create cloudflare@latest -- my-next-app --framework=next --experimental
PS: hat tip to @petebd

Exciting day today! Itās g great day to be an OSS web developer⦠š«¶
Current state of Twitter in one screenshot:
force-feeding a mix of conspiracy theories, lies, and porn in the name of āfreeā speech.

Iām in Austin, Texas this week, meeting folks interested in dev tools and Web. I look forward to the discussions and hacking.

Another triathlon in the bag, this time it was Santa Cruz Triathlon 2024. Triathlons are so much fun, especially when done with buddies.

Strava traces (but without gps which inexplicably failed to record):

Life is a team sport.
If we want our team to win, we must focus on what unites us, lean into it, and accept or even celebrate our differences.
