We need to denormalize installing crappy and huge native apps that also invade peoples privacy in order to perform simple day to day transactions.
This EV station could have asked me to scan a QR code and pay for parking/charging via a 100kb web app. I’d be checked in under a minute and wouldn’t need to worry about uninstalling anything once I leave. Instead I had to download a clunky 24MB app.
Stop requiring native app installs and use the Web instead. Web apps are cheaper and faster to build and provide better user experience for these transactional use-cases. There is absolutely no justification for native apps here except for poor technical judgement or incompetence.

I’ve been experimenting with Nostr for a year or maybe a bit more. It’s fascinating and I’m convinced that it will take over the world just like bitcoin will. Because freedom and sovereignty and privacy matter now more than ever and you no longer get those things (and never really could) in any centralized system or platform.
As for Mastodon, their approach will fail (has failed already?) because instead of true freedom and sovereignty they allow people to create small kingdoms where individuals rule and these individuals are just as flawed and vulnerable to coercion (by private individuals or organizations/government agencies) as the kings and queens of centralized platforms.
Btw Nos via TestFlight is my fav client these days.
I also use connect.nos.social to repost my posts to Twitter to retain some reach and “lure” people to Nostr. Incremental migration strategies for social ftw! Just like in software engineering!
Elon completely lost it in my opinion. He has had so much potential and could have done great things. Many of his past accomplishments will go down in the history books as magical and unprecedented, but he himself will be portrait mostly negatively, unless he gets his shit together and stops spreading lies and misinformation.
I’m truly saddened but I have no choice but to divest from Tesla and his companies unless he changes his ways. I won’t buy the Starlink dish I was looking into and I won’t buy another Tesla. I can’t change his was, but I can control how I “vote” with my money.

There is so much more, just scrolling through his last Twitter posts about Brazil and US elections makes my head spin. He’s totally lost and disconnected from reality and is dragging down all of his followers with him.
Elon lost his way, likely his absolute power corrupted him absolutely, and instead of saving humanity is now actively destroying it.

Without the right culture, set of incentives, processes and tools to support your team, pushing your teams to GSD or “Get Shit/Stuff Done” quickly turns into “Gruesome Shitshow Days” or “Ghastly Shit Delivered” and totally backfires.
