The mitigation against legislation was always strong decentralization and a currency that can't be created out of thin air (Proof-of-Work).
Just another reminder while all the VC's invest in Proof-of-Stake and your bags are held in limbo.
Would we care less about what the Ethereum Foundation spends it's money on if the chain was Proof-of-Work?

There's a reason real open source projects still host their community on IRC. Some are finally moving to Matrix, but you'd think a crypto project might have similar values.
Yet we continue to see more "freedom" technology adopt Discord and Telegram because it's better than slack how?
