Absolutely, 100% agree!
For me Holland has the best and Spain the worst (but Spain has supreme ham etc). Germany is close to Holland though...
Oh, haven't had Dutch Döner.
There are now 'German Doner Kebab' shops in London. I should try one. Although I can't really see any difference. Maybe this is fake German tho lol
It's the toppings. Half of it is veggies and stuff.
Our dönerbude makes one with pomegranate seeds and crumbled goat cheese. My daughter was just eating one to recover from the trauma of eating a döner in Vienna, and she was like

Oh, I wonder what veggies, I'm used to the all salad option, (tomatoes, lettuce, onions, jalapeno, shredded red cabbage) never been offered goats cheese 👀
That's actually a pretty good combo. I had one in Toulouse that was just meat with ketchup. 😂
Oh no no no, I go for the standard chilli sauce and garlic mayo. I would never put ketchup in a kebab, gross lol
I was in shock, fr.
Best I've had was on Edgware Rd in London. I would recommend going there if you're ever over in our police state. There's a few, but I've tried and loved this one
The reviews are like 👀
Yeah the european editions of doner are interesting
That's thanks to all of Germany's Turkish immigrants, though, no?
I remember telling my uncle, who is German and lives there, that I hated to admit it, but döner was my favorite food in Germany! He told me, "You know what? It's mine, too." 😆
Yes, they brought it here, but the Germans added all the Kraut. 😂
Basically, the national dish. My cousin's daughter is coming over to Germany, soon, and asked my kids what to eat, while she was in Berlin, and they both said DÖNER!!
The funniest part of the conversation, was that she was like, Oh, but isn't that Turkish food?, and my kids were like,
Whoa! They have Döner in Turkey, too?
According to this article, some extremist in Istanbul is trying to get the word "Döner" trademarked, so that Germans can't use it. The German government has lodged a formal complaint with the EU.

Doners were my after club drunk food every weekend for 3 years while I was stationed in Germany. I miss them so much.
