Replying to myself: Anyone can downloawd a proof-of-work blockchain and KNOW that it really took that much work to build.
However when you download a proof-of-stake blockchain, you TRUST that the peer you downloaded it from didnt alter it
Whats the easiest way to store bitcoin for Bitcoin noobs ?
I want to orange pill my friends/family, but self-custody is probably out of the question until they understand how it works, and non self-custofy is, well, not your key not your coins...
I'm stuck, I want to recommand bitcoin, but I cant recommand a solution to start using it...
Is Bitcoin too young to be usable (safely) by the broader audience?
If that self-custody dilemma continues, what can break it? Bitcoin banks with government-issued regulations (basically just a regular bank, which cant be bailed out by printing money)?
What does PoW achieve that PoS doesn't ?
They both tend to be centralized:
In PoW, people with the most money buy most mining equipment and mine more, creating the same kind of mining centralization PoS could create.
I'm not sure how PoS creates a notion of 'decentralized clock' PoW can, I'm not sure how PoS dictates how fast are blocks validated.. is that the key ??
If Bitcoin didn't exist, what store of value would you feel the safest using?
I'm a real newb here 😂 What is #plebchain ?
I'm a software engineer doing backend and system programming (c, c++, rust, go...)
I want to contribute to building this bitcoin ran world.
What should I do to help ? How can I know what project to contribute to have the most impact ? How can I find where help is most needed ?
