I’ve always seen myself as a broken person and that’s why I gravitate to books about psychology, self development and content that expands the mind. Despite endless consuming of the books, I still feel broken but will not give up attempting to fix my mind.

The Bitcoin community has a really difficult time with acknowledging problems, because they are so bullish. This leads to stagnation of londstanding issues because they have convinced themselves the problem is already solved by repeating certain phrases. I literally think Bitcoin is revolutionary, but Jesus Christ people, we have to admit there is a problem before we can solve them.

How and why did I have such rock solid conviction that I SHOULD buy bitcoin and that i SHOULDN'T take the mRNA jab?

Because I didn't blindly follow the herd, but did my own research and critical thinking instead.

I try not to judge Nostr clients too hard in any given month on this early basis. They're all working on novel tech to increase speed and usability. They generally raised little capital or in some cases no capital, compared to what so-called Nostr competitors raised in the crypto space. How many bitcoin companies are around from a decade ago?

I use a given app, and rotate to what is gathering momentum to see if it works better, while still using what I used before, to test things as they come and go, because rarely does one client just go away. Multiple clients develop out of that trough and keep competing. But as one app goes through a period of weakness, I don't write it off. I ask what's happening and how it could be better, or what apps should look like.

I'm happy to see so many clients pushing hard and competing. That competition is what makes Nostr more interesting than Twitter/X over time. And indeed if none of the current clients provide what you want, you can enter with your own code and/or capital.

It's open. That's what makes it beautiful. That's why we're here.

5k bits to whoever guesses what I’m making

I'm still seriously offended by the lockdowns, the ban on all sorts of innocuous activities and the complete destruction of civil liberties.

And no, I won't let this go.

A year ago, there was a new project on Nostr almost every day, with developers pushing out updates and exploring a wide range of ideas. These days, it’s harder to find much beyond slogans or greetings in the top posts. Innovation has slowed down, and part of the reason seems to be the centralization of the NIP process. It’s become tricky for anyone outside a small group to contribute. Some proposals get merged quickly, while others are asked to wait up to a year. Maybe that’s just how things evolve, but other FOSS projects seem to manage this better. It’d be great to see Nostr return to that earlier pace of innovation and improve the developer experience.
