Ah I see...wouldn't the nostr:npub1jawrkh8u6j2705t2nx2auzm2s0hxc4kqekp2fxt9232zs607v4yq46l7ms + nostr:npub155m2k8ml8sqn8w4dhh689vdv0t2twa8dgvkpnzfggxf4wfughjsq2cdcvg combo solve this problem for you? Customers can pay with bitcoin but you (or your academic press) receives USD. The exchange happens automatically on Strike's end. Your seller never sees bitcoin.

It would solve the currency problem but the problem remains one of distribution. We don’t have the time or capital to buy and store copies. And no one else wants to except the traditional venues that sell only for dollars.

Since our academic press won’t sell copies for bitcoin, we would need someone else to take on the middleman risk of buying, storing, and selling copies for Bitcoin. So it’s more a distribution problem than a Bitcoin problem.

On my way to nostriga and Baltic Honeybadger. 🫡

I'm convinced you guys left this on https://www.resistance.money/ as a forever tease. Soon isn't happening soon. Although, I'm getting close to capitulating and buying an Amazon gift card or through a local store but I'd really rather send my sats directly to you all.

We’ve been trying! But it doesn’t seem like there’s a good solution coming anytime soon.

I don’t really care about them myself but it’s nice to see the adoption overall!

Nostr has really grown since I last spent much time here.

Thrilled to see that some of you have hundreds of thousand of followers. 🎉

I’m 80% through the episode and I thought Danny’s question about encryption being the main factor in securing data - not proof of work - was exactly the right question to ask. So far, lowery hasn’t said anything that would make me think he has a point that is both true and original.

When he says something that sounds new, it seems wholly confused, wrong. And when one of you challenge, he retreats into something true but uninteresting.

But I still have a few minutes left to listen.

Over the last 1.5 months, I’ve been with other bpi fellows on our manuscript workshop in Seattle, on a panel at Princeton University’s DeCenter, and at the BPI summit in DC.

I’m lucky to have spent so much time with bpi people recently!

Thanks - this has been a low key goal of mine for several years. 🙏

I would love to be able to sit with people going through these things as a second act.
