This person has a dope npub

Just making a simple design for something silly

Making progress with 3D printed mounts for my sensors.

Crazy discovery today though!

I had issues with these sensors so I got additional ones shipped to me, and these new ones had problems too. But I solved it! The connector on the PCB has the SDA and SCL lines of the I2C bus swapped out! It’s a pretty simple mod to the cable to fix this, but the sensor module is definitely in there wrong here.

Moral of this story is: take the time to cleanup your environment and organize so you can focus intently on the problem in front of you. Be deliberate and don’t rush, and the problem will soon become clear.

i am actually following some substantial part of those here who post this kind of content, and i'd post more of it myself if i wasn't more focused on programming, that's what i mean by the prior comment

Basically all of my earliest nostr follows were the homesteaders because that’s the content I’m looking for, and nice change from tech.

I still find people doing awesome outdoor stuff randomly

I was also initially averse to hashtags but as cringy as I feel using them, speech without reach is just shouting into the wind so might as well help people who are looking for a certain thing find it.

All the best #nature content comes from #mastodon. We gotta get out and touch grass some more!

Finding nostr:npub15879mltlln6k8jy32k6xvagmtqx3zhsndchcey8gjyectwldk88sq5kv0n and the Survival Podcast has probably been the highest signal thing I’ve found on #nostr I think it is criminally under followed in the #bitcoin space.

If you want to live on a citadel someday THIS is the podcast you need to listen to. After you have a hardware wallet or 3, it’s now time to make YOUR PHYSICAL WORLD a better place.

Unfortunately that info is out there if you choose to look for it

I ain’t payin with cash and I don’t wear a full face mask to the store. Not trying to hide from anyone

I think this chart is pretty cool. A couple things going on:

Left axis is both temperature and humidity in (degrees F and %)

RIght axis is CO2 in (PPM)

The jagged temp/humidity is coming from the SCD41 sensor, which also has the CO2 sensor included. I am guessing the jaggedness is related to power supply ripples, or something power related...

The smooth temp/humidity is from the AM2301B sensor, which is generally a cheap sensor.

At about 9PM last night, I put this combination of sensors into my enclosed incubation chambers, and you can see as the CO2 rockets up 🚀 🆙 from the ambient CO2 of around 400PPM to about 1600PPM now.

This excessive CO2 might not be ideal for my incubation chamber, I might need to do something about it!

You could just order stuff on AliExpress! It’ll take a month to get to you, and the price including shipping is less than the morning cup of joe, but at least you don’t have to go into a big box store!

True, that helps sometimes. I think a key realization however is it is hardly ever worth it, and that time is better spent doing something productive at the office instead of impulsively trying to get some item *today*

Going to the physical store to buy something for my business is probably about 90% a waste of time.

Pros:

1. You “maybe” get your item today

2. You get a good opportunity to drive and listen to some #bitcoin podcasts

Cons:

1. Item not stocked, but website was unclear

2. Spend 15 minutes looking around the store for the item you want.

3. Buying something that is “close but not perfect”, and in the end you have to order it again online anyways.

4. Taking the time to drive, and wait in traffic

Take the time to do your research at home, and order it online!
