What is an ecosystem in blockchain project?

In the context of a blockchain project, an ecosystem refers to the interconnected network of participants, technologies, and processes that collectively support and sustain the blockchain platform. This ecosystem is designed to enable decentralized applications (dApps), facilitate transactions, and ensure the smooth functioning and growth of the blockchain network. Key components of a blockchain ecosystem include:

1. Core Protocol:

The underlying blockchain protocol that defines the rules, consensus mechanisms (e.g., Proof of Work, Proof of Stake), and algorithms governing the network's operations.

2. Nodes and Validators:

Computers and devices (nodes) that participate in the network, validating transactions and maintaining the blockchain ledger. Validators or miners are specific nodes responsible for verifying and adding new blocks to the blockchain.

3. Developers:

Individuals or teams who build and maintain the blockchain platform, develop smart contracts, dApps, and other tools that run on the blockchain.

4. Smart Contracts:

Self-executing contracts with the terms of the agreement directly written into code. These are deployed on the blockchain and automate transactions and processes without the need for intermediaries.

5. Decentralized Applications (dApps):

Applications that run on the blockchain, leveraging its decentralized nature for various use cases, such as finance (DeFi), supply chain, gaming, and more.

Don‘t hype the buzzwords blockchain/dApp and SmartContracts to much. It is not about them.

Every IT network is „interconnected“ and has „participants“, developers.

SmartContracts are just if/then functions

DApps are just apps and don’t require Blockchain do be decentralized or are even decentralized just because they are using blockchain.

Interoperability is also another buzzword. Every protocol is just build to enable communication between devices what is basically nothing else than interoperability.

Socialism and communism are nothing more than a buzzwords. No matter if pro or contra.

Am I right #wikinostr #wikifreedia and #wikistr are 3 „wikipedia like“ clients for #nostr ?

Are there others as well? Maybe not just web-based clients?

Or can I find wiki articles in clients like #nostrudel

#asknostr

I guess this is a client setting. But is there any client the end user can select the sort option of notes? #asknostr

Nazis named themselves socialists and political right oriented, so that is a fact for sure.

And I agree often we have to find terms we can use as a reference to describe complex ideas.

Anyhow these terms are often used in a lot of different situations and often pushed into a new framing for „marketing“ without being specific.

That’s why these terms alone are imo not „ideal“ for describing things. You always need to add information or references to explain what you really mean.

E.G. terms like „socialism is is the opposite of right“ (what is often the current political situation) and „extreme right is socialism“ (what was the situation for political parties in the „Deutsche Reich“) are both wrong in general, but can be useful if you add the specific context.

Left and right, socialism, capitalism. These words are ALL not well defined. They can be used to explain moral concepts or political strategies. But then it still will be vague. Most times these words are just used for finger pointing/ finding an enemy.

If you want a real discussion, just don’t use this words and explain your though with words that are not charged with emotions.

And discussing the definition of these terms is just a waste of time.

Ok I must admit on first view #nostrudel was a bit complex for me. But after lurking around for a while I must say it’s awesome what have been built here.

Hi all,

in my wider circle of acquaintances someone sent me a call for donations for a young family with a few weeks old baby girl. They had a cruel stroke of fate. The father died in a car accident (proven no fault of his own).

The brother of the dead guy opened a call on gofundme.com.

What is quite easy to use (via paypal). You can even choose to have very small amounts and 0 fees (for gofundme).

But this process needs a lot of middlemen

You->Bank->Paypal->gofundme->donate requestor->donate receiver

And gofundme is financed by donations only.

So I am wondering if nostr/BTC/lightning won’t be a better way for such calls.

What if I want to open a donation call for them via nostr? What would be the best approach to reduce middlemen, required trust and fees?

(They are nocoiners/ precoiners)

#asknostr

Wtf… every day here I see something new what makes me think „btc and/or nostr is gonna change everything“

Do you talk about the band gap?

It is basically the energy that is required for a to metalliod to be conductive (measured in electron volt eV).

It is dependent to the direction of the current. In a diode it the band gap is high in one direction but low in the other one. So the band gap is a energy gap.
