After my grain run in the early morning yesterday I got the barrels emptied in the #garden and the pen. Before this glut of #snow we got overnight last night I had to get a Cat5 cable ran from the house up to the studio as the metal siding is making wifi impossible. Over 7 inches of wet and heavy snow has fallen as of now and more is going to fall over the next couple hours.

We FINALLY got to see the sun yesterday. It was just for the day as we now have snow inbound this evening. The hangar got a bit of the warm light and the ice evaporated from it which gave it the look of it smoking or on fire. In the afternoon I had an emergency #plumbing repair as one side of a union was cracked. Thankfully it just took a run to the store for parts and it was quickly repaired.

The sky river has finally dried up and most all the snow is melted off Mt Spokane. Given our creek starts on the side of it I would have expected there to be a good bit more flow since all the snow is now liquid and flowing. Hopefully that means that much of it has soaked into the ground and isn't just flowing towards the ocean.

Incredible. Mtd we have gotten 3.2" of rain and are sitting at 489% of normal for the same time period. That is an extra 2.55" of rain. The back side of the river is moving over the farm now then we will move back towards snow. The mountains around lost most all their snow so it will be a bit before the depths are rebuilt at elevation.

The sky river drowned us in nearly an inch of #rain the past 24 hours. There is still a lot more to come as the river is still aimed right at the farm. In the afternoon a Great Horned #Owl ended up on the ground near the house. I am presuming it was just water logged as it looked okay otherwise. I will check today and see if it is still hanging around or if it managed to dry enough to fly off.

The #sheep and #alpaca were super happy for the pile of grain. Last time it all went to the #garden so I made sure to get them a barrel this time. The rain started in earnest last night and this morning we had half an inch in the gauge with the full "atmospheric river" still to hit us head on. The driveway is nearly melted now so that is a big plus.

We hiked up our hill and got our #Christmas tree for this year. The stand has a nice group of similar looking trees that will be perfect for the next few years trees. My #greenhouse is doing great through the snow load so far and it's quite nice having a big snow free area on the farm for once.

Got 6.5" of #snow overnight and into the morning yesterday which gave us 8" for the main part of the storm. That meant I was out with the snowblower for a good part of the morning. Now we are looking at up to 3" of rain in the next 3 to 4 days and all this snow will be gone. The joys of El Nino.

So began the deluge of #snow yesterday. Our youngest got pissed in the morning when I swept the deck as HE wanted to do it. So after school both boys spent the afternoon out shoveling all around the farm. Our oldest even was out after dark trying to finish up. It did snow another 3 to 4 inches overnight so much of their work is gone now.
We got our #Starlink and it is WAY faster than the DSL we have had.

Yesterday began our #snow. It started at dawn and went for a few hours which ended up only amounting to about half an inch. That was just the precursor though. I made my #oche for darts and am quite happy with how well it works. The mast is lowered and ready to install the #Starlink as soon as it delivers today.

I am very happy to have my fleece lined pants, the Mtn Hardwear Yumalino, it makes working outside in the sub freezing temps possible. The sheep are super happy to have the new bale rolled into their pen and possibly even more stoked on the remnants of the old bale they couldn't reach through the cage. The new location for the bales also made my life much easier now as they roll right into the pen.

It was cold yesterday and the temps will be warming as the snow storm is inbound for the weekend. Much of my day was spent inside but that meant I got to make a super tasty #bbq sauce for our dinner. I'd like to figure out how to do a big batch and can it.

Went up on the upper property and I think I found our #Christmas tree for this year. It has a nice upright branching and is not too big around, one of the troubles with wild Fir trees. I just need to get it down the hill before the snow fall hopefully.

My best friend and I managed to find the road we have been wondering about for years and got the view of our #climbing area that we haven't had before. We also got our cave bivy spot revamped and ready for another winter of cold camping.

My best friend and I went climbing at our wall and got a new anchor installed. It was cold when not climbing but the sun was nice. The lake is half frozen and we saw a snow goose today when back in at the cave. I figured out that he and I have been friends and climbing for over 30 years now.

Good Thanksgiving with our friends at their house. Nice that they have more room for all of us plus got to see the work they have done around the place. We all ate way too much as is the tradition and enjoyed the nice sunny and warm day.

Yesterday was mostly spent writing over 4k words towards my story and the 50k #NaNoWriMo goal by the end of the month. The most important task though was to get the blocks of turkey in water to thaw or else we would be chiseling at them today. They feel largely thawed this morning so should be ready to cook later today.

Now that the plants are in the house it appears the #fungus in the soils are starting to fruit, likely thanks to the nice warm house. This morning they are fully open and looking to spore. I also dug out my box of old trading cards and found that I have a mass of pretty worthless cards from 1989/1990.

It was his 10th #birthday yesterday and we kept it super simple and at home being a school night. The number/letter cake pan set from Pampered Chef is great and we have used it for all their birthdays. Both boys are obsessed with #Pokemon so that was the gifts both got this month. #hive #peakd #blog
It was the first real snow of the season yesterday morning as there is still some of it on the ground this morning. It's likely to melt off soon and we will see just how much we will get with the el nino winter.
My dart board is lit wonderfully now after my bracket build and now I just need to make a surround.
