I attempted the plastic install in the #greenhouse yesterday while it rained but managed to put it up a bit cockeyed such that one side isn't touching the ground while the other is. I'll reinstall it today and start from one side rather than in the middle. The #darts finals match was great to watch and both Lukes were amazing, Humphries just was a bit better.
As I was going to bed a single car wreck happened that shut down the road. One heck of a call-out (5 cops & 3 fire trucks) for a non-injury wreck that landed about 20 feet from our neighbor's parked car. Took me a bit to calm down to go to sleep after the excitement and my running out to look-e-loo.
Today I hope to get the plastic installed correctly but it is a bit of a pain by myself so will have to take my time to do it right and not rush it.

The grain was still hot when I spread it out in the #garden yesterday morning which caused it to steam a pretty thick cloud off into the cool air. The birds were enamored with it all day and spent much of their time scratching around. The sheep got the partial barrel but they are obese and don't really need the food.
The PDC #Darts world championship final is set for today of Luke vs Luke which should be a great match. I managed to FINALLY! throw a 180 in darts, my first ever. Talk about a long time coming, well over a year of throwing before I managed it.
We are getting rain and snow the rest of the week so likely much of the days will be working inside or undercover. I have to get the greenhouse setup for the coming cooler temps so this will be a good opportunity to get it done.

Luke THE NUKE Littler! #PDC #Darts

New year's day was a more mellow one for us. With it the last day of the holiday break the boys took full advantage and played on their computers for much of the time. Luke Littler is killing it in the #PDC and I highly expect the final to be Luke against Luke. The #Kraken played in the Winter Classic in Seattle and got the first shutout in the classic's history, 3-0 over Vegas. I cleaned up my brass from shooting and gathered targets for making the range this week. Our first meal this year was scrumptious #T-Bone steaks, steamed broccoli, and homegrown baked potatoes.
Now with the holidays over it is time to resume my regularly scheduled programming and get back to work.

Shooting AS therapy more so. It's what I grew up doing but have lost that the past years and this was a very welcome rekindling of that passion.
For me the funny is watching comedians who have perfected the art. I wish I had that kind of quick wit and sharp mind. It's something that few people seem truly capable of.

That was a rather intense last day of the year for me. #PTSD is no joke and I'm feeling better now that I have worked through the tip of the iceberg. Awareness is key to change and I'm drawing my lines in the dirt VERY deep so this will never happen again.
Boom therapy was a very helpful way to close out this year. I've missed shooting and last night rekindled that joy quickly.
Hopefully your new years was more emotionally gentle than mine!
I have solid plans for this year and am going to be moving life in a new direction and change the shitty things I do.

I have done a retrospective post for the first time. I've been posting my blog daily since May 2020 but neglected to go back through them each year. I do so much during the year it can be hard to remember it when winter comes and I am feeling lazy and annoyed becasue I'm not being as productive. This helped me see that it's really okay to have some down time, to rest and to build back the drive needed to be as driven and productive as I am. I'm glad I found #nostr as the past month has been fun in the learning. I'm looking forward to learning even more in the new year.

What a #darts match yesterday. Luke Littler at 16 beat his idol Barney 40 years his senior. The kid is damn good and taking the darts world by storm. Our oldest watched the match and it gave him a lot more drive to practice.
I've found that I was measuring my soil temp at the bottom of the row which was only half correct. My ground in my #greenhouse is higher on the east end and my heater is running east/west. I have been measuring the soil temp at the low end which has been only giving me a 8 degree difference. The upper end gives me a 15 degree difference and is nearly to low end germination temps. It's been 10 days since seeding an no sprouts yet but I'm feeling more hopeful now seeing the better soil temps.

It was another nice morning yesterday and after I watched RVB win his match I was out checking the soil in the #greenhouse. I've managed to get it up to 43F above the heater which is 8 degrees warmer than the rest of the soil and 13 degrees warmer than the air. I'm trying to figure out how to install a second layer of plastic inside to help make more dead air space.
The #Christmas tree went to the sheep who devoured it quickly, our tom turkey died and got hauled to the bone yard. On the way back I found all these mushrooms sticking up out of the snow and had to get some shots. I like the cover shot with the #mushroom surrounded by the snow.
I made another batch of #tortillas in the afternoon and spent time going back through my year of photos and made a list of my various projects/tasks/events and am making my retrospective post which I want if anything for my own self and memory of the year.
