I have so many people look shocked when I say we butcher all our own animals. My wife grew up butchering chickens and turkeys and we were given the setup well over a decade ago and have put it to really good use. I also butcher out sheep when we are ready for more meat. There is not much as amazing as a fresh cut of meat from an animal I have raised and know what it has eaten and that it has had the best life I can provide it.

They all look great. randomized cards picked from the list could be fun. maybe random and self picked cards and one could be small buy in?

I had an early morning grain run yesterday and got to see the moon with a huge rainbow halo before dawn. The grain got spread out in the #garden and one barrel dumped to the sheep. Everyone loves the grain and all the birds and animals pile into it as soon as I have it out of the barrels, sometimes even before.
I got my IR thermometer and checked the surface temp of the soil in the #greenhouse. So far I have managed a 6 degree difference which has the soil at around 40F. It's still cold but better than 33F. I researched glycol heating systems but they are FAR too expensive to install so I keep coming back to the rocket mass heater idea. It's not exactly something for this year as it will require trenching up the greenhouse to install the piping/exhaust.

The billionaire co-founder of Xiaomi unveiled the company’s first electric vehicle Thursday, declaring ambitions to become a top global carmaker in 15 to 20 years and compete against Tesla and Porsche.
The SU7, which stands for Speed Ultra, rolled onto a stage at the China National Convention Center in Beijing with no drivers visible, ending a presentation by CEO and co-founder Lei Jun in front of thousands of people.
Lei spent hours detailing the car’s features, which include a range of up to 800 kilometers (500 miles) on a single charge, adjustable spoilers, unique colors and a top speed of 265 kilometers an hour. Read more here: https://trib.al/3ZHuffD

Guess no one lives where it's cold and has to drive an hr to the nearest town for groceries. Pure EV is trash still for most of US. I refuse to wait for an hr to charge to go a few hundred miles to charge again for an hr. I'll take gas until hydrogen is the fuel.

Cowboy rodeos are so old America. New America has full process rodeos that go from catching the animal to producing a product from it. I love the sound of that! Talk about the antithesis of "short attention span theater"! I bet the faster people could manage it in the time a baseball game takes, and it would be way more interesting the baseball game.
Alpacas are way harder to wrestle than sheep. They have sharp toes and REALLY strong legs. Ours is nearly impossible to immobilize for shearing. I'd love to watch some keyboard jockey try and tackle her.
That sounds just like politics

Yesterday I checked on my greenhouse soil heater in the morning and found that it was not getting very warm. I had it laying on the top of the ground and all the heat wicked through the row cover and none went to the soil. So I decided to bury it in about 6 inches of soil. My hope is that the close contact of the soil will allow the heat to transfer to it and not straight to the air. I will know better today as I get an IR thermometer to check surface temps.
I made a super tasty dinner that was very easy. Ham and scalloped potatoes that I baked in the oven for an hour is now one of our new favorite dishes. The recipe is out of the Betty Crocker cookbook and is an easy quick prep meal.

She has had hers for about a decade now and has just replaced the silver wires when needed. I'm not sure the manufacturer of hers but there are a few more well known like LifeForce and Silvelungs that sell on Amazon and through their sites. The important part is finding one that does the right ppm for you and smaller molecule size. Most are 5ppm but there are ones that will go up to 40ppm, the higher concentrations require longer run times.
The kits for making colloidial are not too expensive and can make gallons. My Mom makes ours and we always have a half gallon sitting around getting used for everything. Any scrape I get I apply silver gel and any chance of getting sick I am drinking from the bottle.
I've gotten to the point where I am asleep before 10pm every night and I wake between 4 and 5:30 am naturally on my own each morning with no alarm. I get an average of 7 hours of #sleep a night and have come to LOVE early mornings. The world is quiet, the highway traffic is minimal, the energy of the local world is nice and mellow, and I can concentrate easily with a fresh and clear mind. I do feel bad for everyone who has no ability to be a morning person, it is a special time of the day that I truly enjoy while I drink on my jug of green tea.

I figure tea has to be as popular worldwide as coffee is so time we need the #teachain as a sibling to #coffeechain. They are quite complimentary to eachother.

I finally built a soil heater yesterday. This has been in my head for years and I now had a reason to build it with the #greenhouse in working order. This is the first incarnation of it as I have ideas for making it bigger. I am super anxious for it to get light so I can go see if it worked last night. I dropped it between my lettuce and kale rows to hopefully give enough warmth to allow germination in these 30F at night and 40F days we have the next 10 days. Since this is my first winter with a greenhouse everything is experimental and a VERY good opportunity to learn a lot.
I am not a #coffee drinker but I have my quart of #greentea every single morning so raise my jug to you all, #teastr and #coffeestr.

Wow! 1.2 billion keys tried so far and yet to pull the #npub I am after. Those 6 letters are being quite difficult. To compare I got a "farm" npub in minutes as the difficulty was estimated at 1,048,576, add the e and r and it went up to 1,073,741,824.

Christmas day was a success and the boys had a blast with their piles of #Pokemon cards. We had #Christmas cartoons and movies on all day except for the new Doctor Who episode. Ghostbusters is not considered a holiday movie by many but I still think it is and the boys got to watch it for the first time. I made #steaks for dinner and marinated them in a maple bourbon that turns them to decadent. We got a white Christmas just not until the evening and over night where we have about half an inch now but it will be gone really quick as the rest of the week is warmer.
