That was an exciting bit of time to watch the insanity of the chain. It's still psycho but tempered a bit. Who would have though that mining would be MORE profitable after the halving but with the fees so high here we are for now.
It wasn't a super busy day around the farm but I did manage to get a few things accomplished. It's now to the point where all the gardens are planted and I am waiting on everything to grow so I have a couple months to do other projects. The hard part is getting myself motivated to do said projects...

I had a pretty big grain run that I did yesterday morning then I spread it all out on the hillside where the birds all calmoured around and perused the nibblins. We got a healthy spring storm that rolled through but it only dropped .03" of rain while dropping the temps to the chilly range. One of our young turkeys is for sure a tom as he was practicing his puffing and strutting which seems a bit ealrier than other turkeys we have raised.

It took me a bit of troubleshooting, many trips back and forth between the coop and the house, multiple boards swaps and code tests, before I finally figured out I had a single lead in the wrong place... DOH! THAT was why the door wouldn't shut. It works like I planned it to now and it shut exactly on time last night.
I have been to town for a big load of grain this morning and will be spreading it around the farm in a while, the birds and animals will be super stoked on it and the birds will likely be wading into it once the door opens at 7.

Yesterday morning I changed the oil on my truck which it really needed after getting the last seeds in the ground for the year. Mid day I had picked the boys up from school and we were home for about 15 minutes before the BOOM of the car wreck on the highway. I ran out to see the carnage from teh SUV t-boning the pickup truck. They jaws of lifed the driver of the truck out and the woman driving the SUV looked to have whiplash injuries but her 3 year old kid seemed just fine.
After the commotion I got the weedeater tuned up and running then got the few areas cut down around the yard.

I grow most everything at 1 foot spacing. My available sunlight is rather limited due to the hill and trees to the south so I have to make every bit of space count. Last year I ended at 5400 lbs harvested from about 1/5 acre in all.
I have them all at 1 ft spacing so need to trim down the branches so they fit better once in full growth. I learned last year that they fill out quite a bit.
I used to grow mostly cherry tomatoes but the damn things were like herpes around the garden and would pop up everywhere. With the greenhouse I wanted paste and slicers that I can train the plants better to single stems.

After my seeds delivered I was out in the garden stuffing them in the soil yesterday morning. All the rows are filled in now save the few spots for the starts I am getting, the earliest I have ever been planted. I'm rather happy to have it all done already and also have sprouts popping. This should prove to be a rather bountiful harvest year.

Busy day yesterday in which I got the greenhouse cleared and tilled and ready for the seeds that I am getting in the mail today. 6 pounds of greens got harvested which is the earliest I have ever had a harvest. The greenhouse was like a sauna and it was only 70F outside and I had the side rolled up and the ends open... Doing its job quite well.
Today begins a bit of a cool down before it warms back up later in the week. I've got to take advantage of the bit cooler temps to get the grass cut that is growing at warp speed around the farm.

Hand stacked bricks make a great fire pit since the bricks allow air in to help the fire burn better. All free bricks from a landscaping tear out job years ago.
Steak night. Bison sirloin tip and beef chuck. Homegrown taters and salad to go with it makes an amazing dinner.

Killer harvest today! Picked all the greens in the greenhouse and got 5.75 lbs total. The butter lettuce is 2.25 lbs, kale 2 lbs, and 1.5 lbs of spinach. Now I can till the greenhouse and get it planted.

The greenhouse has worked out well so far. The cabbage I had planted was a really nice size so they all got moved out into the main garden. I'll take the win as I need it. 11 spots in the row now have a massive head start and will likely be producing a harvestable head in a month. I found that the servo on the coop door opener fried and was the problem so once I unplugged it everything worked again. I got the code working so I don't need the external RTC and now have the wifi pickup the ntp time at startup. Now I jsut have to deal with the light sensor which is reading different.
