Yesterday morning was pretty stellar. The weather was kinda shit but the winds were working and after a nice near mile hike to the top of the hill I got there right as the winds got perfect so off I went on a pretty nice but short flight. BEST part was I had ZERO fear of the launch now! I was a bit afraid of the cliff launch before. Both flights were shorter but good and I tried for a third but the winds said "YOU SHALL NOT FLY!"
Heading back up today to the diffferent mountain where we have some mowing and work to do before flying.

Another day another storm. We got 1.02" of rain from the storm in total which paled in comparison to the area to our east in Idaho that got nearly double, just 20 miles away. I got the gas line installed for the grill and the valve is mounted within easy reach. The new clothesline works pretty slick on the pulleys and I look forward to it being warm enough this weekend to use it.
Going to go and try to get a flight or two in this morning if the winds will stay mellow enough, otheise it will be a work party getting take off and landing zones cut back.

Yesterday morning first thing I was in town picking up a big load of grain which I emptied right away into the sheep pen once back on the farm. The fog remnants mixed with the steam from the grain to make a nifty view.
My morning was spent mowing as we had a big rain storm inbound which I had to beat. Despite a couple injuries in the process I got the bulk of it done before the water began falling. It then proceeded to dump all night and is still raining now, we have over .75" in the gauge and counting. Be nice if it would mellow out some for the summer so the grass wil lstop growing at hyper speed.

Back on the farm #Nostr
Turned into a rather busy day yesterday as I play catch up after the trip. The farm is all shaggy and overgrown and everything that isn't getting rained on is covered in tree semen. It's disgusting all the dried on yellow ick all over.
I got the Blackstone finished setting up, the gas line hooked up, and we were able to use it for the first time. I spent much of my youth in my Grandmother's hotel that had a commercial kitchen with a huge griddle so this is a super throw back for me and something I have wanted for most of my life. There is little like cooking on a huge griddle.

Best feeling in the world is to be home, then the reality sets in of the shit ton of work that now needs to be done thanks to the time gone. We hit the hot springs yesterday morning again and got to go into the new building which is REALLY nice. The drive home was nice and fast and we managed to get through town before the schools let out.
My to-do list is nearing 50 items now so I had better look at getting started on it or else it will never get done.

Such a long day of driving in super intense cross winds, which turned to head winds. Eastern Montana in notorious for the pyschotic winds that blast the entire region. I was quite happy to finally make it to Bozeman in the late afternoon and our hotel for the night.
I am looking forward to the hotsprings soon then really looking forward to getting home this afternoon.

Last day here yesterday and I needed to get as much done as I could. A number of branches needed trimming around the yard and I got a small pile made out of the way. The last 2 blinds went up quickly and it made a hell of difference in their bedroom to darken it. Some rather nice storms came trundling through overnight and I woke up to the deluge this morning.
Today we head for Bozeman then home tomorrow.

After getting a few things done around the house yesterday we headed out to the farm for the day. It is truly in the middle of nowhere, miles from the nearest town and far from any kind of city. That kind of explains ALL of North Dakota. The boys had a blast with the slew of various animals and we hung out until late in the evening. There was still a tinge of light on the horizon as we left around 11pm.

Yesterday was a solid day of work here around the house. I got more blinds installed leaving only 2 left which I will get to tomorrow. Mid day we all went to the Minot Discovery Center which is a pretty nifty building and has oodles of things for the kids to do. It was something the city was working on since 2013.
The big project for the day was to get the planter boxes filled with dirt. I got the tractor running and then we all worked to move the dirt into the boxes. Everyone pitched in and we managed to get the last one done despite the rain shower that came through. MIL is SUPER HAPPY!!!

One of the few things I DO enjoy in North Dakota is the storms. They can be pretty epic and are super fun to watch come trundling through. They tend to NOT have tornadoes up this far north so it is generally just wind and rain. The lightning flashed then the thiunder rumbled and rolled for nearly a minute, it was super cool how long it lasted. We don't get thunder that lasts that long with the mountains around our farm.
We went to an escape room for my first time yesterday and it was actually pretty nifty. The boys had a blast with it and we got it done in 41 minutes.
Today will be trying to figure out how we will move soil across the property to the back yard to fill the planter boxes so she can plant her veggies.

It was graduation day yesterday and niece 2 of 4 is now adulting. It was a pretty regular class size of 5 who graduated... The town is all of 12 by 15 blocks big in the middle of vast flat plains of North Dakota. It makes for a very close knit group though and the kids tend to get far more one on one teaching time than schools with many more kids. The oldest niece was one of 2 who graduated 2 years ago.
We could get thunderstorms today which have the potential to be pretty awesome. One of the few great things about this place, the storms can get epic.

I just couldn't. I looked over from the kitchen in the afternoon yesterday and saw that creepy ass doll sitting there looking like it was about to stand up and reach over his head and grab his eye lids.... He had no clue until I said something then he turned and was shocked to see it right there by his head. My MIL loves that damn thing.
Today is the niece's high school graduation with all of 4 other people... Tiny middle of nowhere farming country school. Thankfully the insane weather has moved off and it looks to be a really nice day for it.

Weather in Montana is crazy. It was DUMPING snow on us yesterday morning and took till Billings to have it turn to rain, which fell the rest fo the drive. It was white knuckle driving for a good 2 hours before it mellowed out, though the intense rains were a bit wild too.
We made it in good time and the storm followed right along with us. Over night it was a serious blow and nonstop rains. Tthankfully the serious weather is farther south in the plains states.

Not how I expected yesterday morning to go but I had a last minute grain run to do. The animals were al lquite happy for it. I got last chores done around the farm then we loaded up and headed out.
We made it to Bozeman in time for dinner then got to our hotel for the night. Woke this morning to 2 inches of snow and more falling... Thanks Montana.

I had a super long list of task to get done yesterday and I was able to plow through the majority of them. It was a bit of a rush in the afernoon to get the mowing done before the rains hit again but I managed in time.
The coop door needed some armoring against perching which worked out very nicely in the evening as every bird had gone inside. I checked in on the bees and they are doing quite nicely, I presume the queen is there as the hive was all at work when I popped the lid.
Super stoked to have my new book on #Runes by Edred Thorsson, I even ordered 4 more of his older works to increase my collection.

Yesterday was another busy day around the farm. We lost one of the ducks to something hungry but it kinda serves the duck right since it knew damn well were the coop was and when to go in. In the afternoon we finally got out to the glass studio for some torch time as J was really wanting it. A pretty solid storm came rolling through in the evening and dumped .17" of rain in about 20 minutes while I grilled our steaks in the fire pit. The whole next week has high chances of rain, at least it won't be sweltering.
