This winter is garbage for snow. It'd be nice if it just fell and stayed a while instead of the instant melt offs. The rains aren't helping that cause much.

I'd been forgetting to make a new batch of #Kahlua for far too long and yesterday I managed to get it done. Not sure why it took me so long, it's not a hard process. Make espresso, boil with sugar, cool, add vanilla beans and bourbon, cap, age, drink. So I have 2 bottles that need about a month before we should first break into them.... if we can wait...
I'm really digging #Freecad and the vast differences between it and Autodesk. It feels a lot easier to learn and looks to be just as powerful. The workbenches are really cool and make the work flow pretty smoothly. Lots to learn with it but it's fun so enjoyable.

New year's day #pewpew lessons for the boys yesterday after the snow eventually stopped falling in the afternoon. Started off with the bigger guns and will step back to the 22 lr now for refining and further learning. They are getting a bit later start on it than I did as a kid but things were different in the 80s and I was at the range most weekends then.
#3dprinter lessons are thankfully easy ones and not big issues for me so it can keep brrrrrring away. Amazing how many settings are available and that just one can make or break a print.

Rather busy day yesterday for the last day of the year. Started before dawn and ended today. The animals are all super happy for the grain, the kitchen fan is back up, the printer was brrrring away all day, then I grilled our bison t-bone steaks for dinner.
The boys had a blast with the fireworks all night and surprisingly I still have some left over.

Yesterday morning the boys had to go fetch our shithead turkeys who absconded to the neighbor's to raid their chicken feed. Took the boys 2 hours to get them home where they will once again be locked down.
I'm having a world of tire troubles. My truck needs all 4 new, the spare I have on has a stick in the side that let's air leak as well as the valve stem, and the one trailer tire goes flat. The 4 tires for the truck are ordered so in the next days the work will get done. They managed to make the trip to town this morning for grain though.
The boys were making dinner when all of a sudden the exhaust fan over the stove broke from the wall and fell on the stove. Scared the shit out of hte boys' who were making dinner. Thankfully the glass didn't break and I will get it remounted today.

This is just a soggy ass end of the year for us. It just won't stop raining, or get cold enough to snow on the farm, so we are locked in a seemingly perpetual mud season. At least we get these 2 days of dry before the next system comes barreling in.
Got the Christmas tree taken down, the living room cleaned, found my transplanted pepper plant has a pepper growing, and have a brewery returning so I have more grain to pickup.

First #ski trip for the full family yesterday. Normally it was just me solo so this was a new adventure. I was incredibly surprised that on one of the busiest days on the mountain I was able to find vast swaths of untouched powder lying amongst the trees. This is my happy place to be skiing, the groomed runs are just for transit between the various tree patches.
Thankfully everyone had a blast despite the numerous falls as they worked on learning to control the sticks on their feet.

It's quite amazing to watch a 9 dart leg be thrown and Heta nailed one yesterday to which his oppenent and the crowd went full on ape shit. It's a pretty good tournament this year.
FreeCad is a badass program and has so many addons available it rather amazing. I've managed to find some manuals and tutorials to work through and am quickly picking up a number of aspects. I have tons to learn with it but at least it isn't Autodesk.

Of course it had to happen yesterday, but thankfully it wasn't Christmas day and I was able to fix it. The water line finally popped a hole in the nipple between two 90s, it had been a tiny leak but managed to corrode enough to become a honest leak. Swapped out the metal for pvc so as not to have that keep happening.
Tested my #pew-pew but it's not quite capable of dropping a 1200 fps round down below 900 fps. I have to print others with the varied internal baffling systems to find one that might handle the standard lr rounds and actually quiet them effectively.

I wake at 4:30 am most every morning and it is GLORIOUS the feeling of the world being asleep. The energy level of the world is so low and it feels so much more comfortable to exist in those hours. Then the world wakes up and the buzz and system takes hold and the quiet is gone. Doesn't help the highwauy is near so the traffic has a bit to play in that as well.

It's a sad slide into relegation but I am serious that they need it. Top flilght for so long leaves them with huge egos and no humility, namely on the ownership side. They're out of all the cups, bottom half of tables, and an infighting shit show. I want more for them but there has to be a massive change for it to happen.
