The dollar is a less usurus and easily manipulated currency. The rules change all the time, there is regulations and people to answer to. You will never be your own banker because you rely on exchanges to put your money to actual use. We seen exchanges be pretty shady haven't we? A checking account is more trustworthy than an exchange. Any bad news article will make precious crypto depreciate in value. Why would you want currency tied to news?
Regular People can be pushed to learn the web and email (which is not that complicated at the user-level) because they have to so they can work and do basic tasks. Crypto and Nostr's is not necessary and there is no motivation to learn it when simpler alternatives exist
