No, it's not even a good thing if you been racist or insulted a religion. It's an attack on you as an individual to conduct commerce and make a living.
Cancelling opinions removes them from the public dialogue where they can be openly debated.
If you mean our current society with culture. yeah, cancel it. it's broken.

Isn't "cancelling" a function of culture? People's problem is that their culture is just not the current dominant one.

Every culture has, and currently still, engaged in it. Each has their own thresholds for what is acceptable and what isn't and anything that falls outside the bounds of acceptability is "cancelled". I have yet to see anything besides this.
Even free speech absolutists usually drop it once someone pushes for things they don't want.
