I don’t even know where the hell to get raw milk where I live, I’d love to try it though. I have heard of some farmers selling it but it’s like $25 a gallon

Sorry you’re right- gold backed cannot be fiat, we became fiat after removing the backing, my mistake.

I also wasn’t aware that fractional reserve banking started while being on a gold standard. All this being said, I think we’re definitely on the right path with bitcoin and if previous currencies with backing were subject to fractional reserve then there definitely would’ve been a use case for BTC even on a backed dollar system

It’s just buzzwords that talking heads pass down to whatever group of people still listen to them.

I prefer the Austrian economics take on value, no such thing as intrinsic value. Price is always directly correlated to how we value something’s uses

Solid take, I’m on board.

I guess if the consensus is yes, and we can say that bitcoin would STILL have value/purpose in an economic environment where the money is hard, then that only means one thing-

No one is bullish enough. Especially those who have yet to realize bitcoins face-value benefits.

Just wrestled with this thought on my way into work-

Would #bitcoin exist if we still had hard money? If the dollars still had a backing?

Would there even be a need for it?

I lean towards no, personally. But I’d love to hear some opinions.

I assume ‘no’ because I believe bitcoin was created as a solution to a problem. It does a great job at being the solution, all the price tag to me is just a reflection of how well it’s solving the problem.

Every day counts 💪

If you have goals (which we all do), break it down into small, actionable steps, and get to work.

All this does is promote action, and action creates feedback loops. positive feedback = a win, negative feedback = a lesson or learning experience, gain of knowledge, which is also a win.

Stack these micro wins and learning experiences & next thing you know, you’re a well rounded person who’s closer to those big goals and wielding more skills than before.

So even if your goal fails at some point along the way, is it really a loss? Losses don’t exist in this regard, my personal take, but I think it’s a sound one.

It’s far too easy to sit around and think about these goals we have, and usually if we think too hard about them we think our way out of them. This was my problem for years.

Last year was a very big year of personal growth for me, I won’t get into specifics because I’m not here to pump my own tires, but I will say this- this shift in mindset, and the action that followed is the reason why

I know this is a trendy thing to say these days but it’s by far the best habit I’ve implemented in my life over the past year or so.

Maybe just 1 person on this app has big goals but are stuck in that rut of thought and needs to hear this, that’s the real reason for this post.

Make it digestible and get to work!

Cheers

Questions for #Nostr in regard to setting up a node.

I have an old MacBook that doesn’t get used too often, so I’ve ordered a 2TB external SSD and I plan on downloading everything necessary tomorrow.

1. Does my MacBook need to be connected to the internet via Ethernet? Or is wifi fine? It doesn’t have an Ethernet plug so I’d need to find a work around for this.

2. When downloading bitcoin core, do the application AND files need to be stored on the SSD? Or just the files/network data

3. If I store all the data + applications on the SSD, does that mean I can (in the future, if the laptop quits on me) just plug the SSD into a raspberry pi, micro desktop, etc. and instantly configure it as a node?

4. What program do I need in order to run an electrum server to host my wallet and friends wallets? And would that be saved on the laptop itself or SSD?

Paleo-ish, some carbs like sourdough or rice around workouts and stints of hard labour. Mostly single ingredient foods otherwise and protein/fat based meeals on either end of the day

Proud to legitimately say well rounded, effective. Years of tweaking to get here and stay here!

Hell yes 💪🤙

Is this a lotto miner? What’s the setup cost?

I’m in the process of converting my old laptop to a node and then I wouldn’t mind getting a little lotto rig set up
