Why you all so sad when price drops? Why you only excited when price goes up? It should be the other way around.

Yesterday was a special day to us.

Yesterday marked the 1 year anniversary of the car accident my girlfriend had.

The 4th of August 2023 was a shocking day for us. I was on a way to a music concert, when suddenly I got a phonecall, the person on the other side told me my girlfriend got hit by a car. Not much info was given to me, but immediately I returned back home, or to the hospital at least.

Over there they told me she got hit by a car and had multiple severe fractures: shoulder, elbow, femur, pelvis, some ribs and also a cervical vertebra.

That first week was horrible, to say the least. But each day we received some positive news. She had calm nights and they told me she was a strong woman and a fighter…

Multiple surgeries went by and about a week later they took her out of the coma, finally she was awake, and more importantly, she was able to talk.

She kept going strong and I knew she wasn’t going to give up!

A month later they transferred her to another hospital to start recovering. At first she had one goal: being able to stand up and attend the wedding of her cousin, that was only 3 months later. We kept believing that she was gonna be able to, and so she did!

Around December last year, she was allowed to come home! But still had to attend recovery each day, knowing that that was the best for her, she never skipped anything of that.

Being weelchair-bound we used to do small walks, where sometimes she tried walking with crutches, that was very hard, but small steps at a time it kept getting better.

Yesterday marked that first anniversary and it feels weird to know that it has “only” been 1 year, and at the same time it’s already been 1 whole year!

She keeps recovering well, small steps at a time, with some pullbacks aswell.

But she keeps moving on ❤️

I just had one of the most serendipitous, fortuitous events happen EVER on one of our film shoots.

Earlier today, my partner and I had a flight cancellation in NYC while shooting a documentary about what it means to be a bitcoiner.

Naturally, we went on the Orange Pill App @orangepillapp to see if any bitcoiners could help us out - as we were well over our documentary budget and needed a place to stay since the earliest flight rebooking was 2 days later.

After just 45 minutes of posting the message, @HODLhuddle gets in touch and offers her place to us.

Turns out - she joined Orange Pill App just *8 HOURS* or so earlier this same day by sheer coincidence, all because she happened to ALSO stumble upon our latest documentary (without knowing we were the same stranded filmmakers/creators), which reminded her of the bitcoiners she had met in New York at @PubKey_NYC.

Now, we're staying at her place until our next flight - and this entire encounter is fundamentally changing the story of our documentary as we live through the unexpected generosity and hospitality of a member of the bitcoin community in real time.

TL;DR - Bitcoin is much bigger than money. There are forces beyond our perception that bring us together ♥️
