A lot of soccer players in Europe sign 8+ year contracts. I think the purpose is so the transfer or signing on fees can be amortized over the length of the contract to comply with financial regulations. I would be absolutely shocked if they are not adjusted for true inflation in some way or another.
I would argue that Bitcoin will lead to a decentralized, open source AI that can reinforce Bitcoin's purpose. But I admit that this stuff is above my pay grade 😅
