Umm.

That "Nothing" starts with an "N" and ends with a "g".

But that is pedantic.

Yeah - I've checked a few of the "trusted" sites listed here

https://writer.oliphant.social/oliphant/the-oliphant-social-blocklist

Let's do a quick look at these "trusted" sites

- artisan.chat - 19th at over 1200 blocks

- mastodon.art - 31st at over 1000 blocks

- pleroma.envs.net - 14th, over 1200 blocks

- rage.love - 16th, over 1200 blocks

- toot.wales - 50th with 700 blocks

the others are below top 50 blockers.

So getting 5 of these should be pretty easy since they are top 50 blockers. SMH.

Depending on the source at least $20M and maybe up to $50M is "known".

Who knows how much it really is.

BREAKING NEWS: NBC News is preempting my local news (and likely NBC Nightly News) to show the motorcade going to the Georgia jail.

Includes occasional shots from inside "PRESS 1" in the motorcade.

The web site is a few minutes behind the OTA feed

https://www.nbcnews.com

Protesters and supporters standing outside in record breaking heat.

WHY does the motorcade include an ambulance? (now parked in front of the jail)

WHY is there a row of busses in front of the jail as well?

I scrolled through the official Georgia indictment here

https://www.fultonclerk.org/DocumentCenter/View/2077/CRIMINAL-INDICTMENT

A few tidbits

- the RICO charge runs for about 60 pages and includes "161 acts" like tweets, phone calls, text messages, speeches, and other things to "further the conspiracy".

- a bunch of "false statements" to the Georgia house & senate

- requesting a special session of GA congress is illegal

and so on.

Using Jenna Ellis (CO) as an example, most "acts" are in other states - nothing to do with Georgia.

Hmm. My experience with relocation is closer to 80% of the people won't move.

Three different office consolidations from West Covina CA, from Minneapolis MN, and from Binghamton NY - all to Arlington TX. All had a pretty generous relocation package & only 20% of the people in each case would move.

They may get a much bigger staff loss than they are expecting with those kind of rules.

A couple stories about travel to Las Vegas

https://www.theregister.com/2023/08/12/black_hat_network/

First, some information about the Network Operations Center that is set up at Black Hat. First, protecting the registration process, and second the actions taken on the wifi set up (detection, notification, banning if needed, and so on).

https://www.theregister.com/2023/08/12/black_hat_network/

Second Cory Doctrorow came back from Defcon with some swag, book recommendations, and so on.

You probably want to read this post

You probably have to "pass the test" to get in (at least that is how it used to work).

Two times or five?

Two for the impeachment only.

Five for the impeachment PLUS the three sets of indictments on top.

I would have pointed out these instead

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesoamerican_pyramids

At least on the right continent.

But he also said "most" in the first message. But most people all over the world would have been living in tents and caves back then.

Well, he isn't running for reelection so he can say more provocative stuff.

The bit about full day preschool hours was repeated in a 9news interview as well. The funding was for half day preschool. But a "full day" would end at about 2:30PM - if a parent wants to pick up their kid eat 5PM - they need daycare, not full day preschool.

I'd also say that "any abortion should be illegal" is not a true statement of the Republican position.

From a few years ago - an odd sequence of numbers helped find spies

https://www.mattblaze.org/blog/neinnines/

A nice story that goes into some detail about one time pads (OTP) and the radio station in Cuba that did broadcasts of numbers on a regular basis. People (including the FBI) noticed that MANY of the transmissions had no nines in them. This happened for 10 years. The frequency of those helped the FBI catch some Russian spies.

Maybe. Here are a couple stories I posted the last time this came up

https://porkbarrelbbq.wordpress.com/2009/04/14/bbq-101-what-not-to-do-shopping-cart-grill-2/

From 2009! - doing it sort of right. Didn't remove all the plastic but using a pan instead of directly on the cart.

https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/threads/grates-made-from-a-grocery-cart.152872/

From 2013 - supposed to be "food safe" nickel and chrome.

But what you don't know is if there was some added clear coat after the original manufacture. That is the stuff I would worry about.
