nostr:npub1gs90vr5h8scvfuf47apdc8szdcn92yhmv559ezwl0nd9tln3g3vsv4evp8 I'm new here. That's no way to treat someone trying to be frens. Maybe I'll take my follow back. Rude.

nostr:npub1ul8tua30lc5rs6ytqus250kg244vevnaumsdsqfl42cz3n86hhzs04kl35 WDW is pissed off that the annual pass holders mess up the lines at peak time for the non genie+ (fast pass) once in a few year guests. They are worried that the infrequent guests aren't finding value and not going to come again. The annual pass ppl bitch that fast pass should be free. Their best guest comes infrequently and pays for the fast pass upgrade. BUT they need to see the price high enough so the lower tiers don't clog those lines.
nostr:npub1e04udcmm2kdsvnhpnjc4waz76mg3hjn3e98y7cz8g2sdwh3dd7cs242y0j
That doesn't make sense.
If I had a season pass at WDW I would only go on non peak days and times. Why wait in line? I've had season passes for both Universal Florida and Six Flags over the years. I NEVER tried to go on a busy day.
PS: The deal I got with Universal was something like $200 for two years.
PPS: The deal I got with Six Flags was for a non resident - it cost less than some parks single day pass. (they don't do those any more)

I chop up the bacon, mix in some onions and peppers, and then add the eggs & a bit of milk to scramble. Yum!

I have a season pass for skiing (Vail Resorts). Yeah - I don't spend as much per trip. But I DO many more trips than I would without the pass. So yeah, I probably end up spending more overall than I would without the pass.
I also do most of my skiing mid week which reduces their load on weekends.
Spend per trip isn't necessarily a good metric to use.
A comparison of drunks and COVID fanatics
https://brownstone.org/articles/will-they-ever-come-clean-about-the-damage-they-caused/
Using a few people for the examples it goes into the thought process that people use to avoid taking responsibility for their actions.
Has a reasonably short tear down of the "Republicans died more" study (basically more were over 75).
Remember - alcoholic generally just hurt themselves. Those who promoted the COVID directives hurt millions.

In the 1960s my dad put seatbelts into our pickup truck.
That same period my sister and I would sleep in the camper while my parents drove to Eastern Oregon for the weekend. No seatbelts or any restraints there.
agreed unless the article is LONG... nostr:npub1a0qxpztc73n47hp37wxfqt6thaakt97seu7satuv7uz65mnlq37sxu3tmr
... then, a PDF is more practical.
Yes, archiving is important.
Sometimes, history is being rewritten mere minutes after first publication.

Yeah - I've noted that a few times with Associated Press stories.
The local "Sentinel Colorado" will pick up an AP story and put it on line. It will say one thing and by the time I get to apnews.com to get a link that the European's can read - the story has been changed.
More annoying are the 404 messages I get from "Not the Bee". They publish a story twice through the RSS feed and the first link is dead by the time I try to read it.
nostr:npub1ul8tua30lc5rs6ytqus250kg244vevnaumsdsqfl42cz3n86hhzs04kl35 WOW! After a google search, I found nothing like this! Thank you!

I also took a look at the flag my mom bought years ago. It is something like this one
https://www.valleyforgeflag.com/prod-466-1-24-344/perma-nyl-3-x5-nylon-u-s-flag.htm
All nylon. It has lasted for years now (maybe decades - hard to say).

Hmm. You might want to get a flag suitable for the US military - it would be made to be durable under a wide variety of conditions.
Here is one company
https://annin.com/products/military-flags/
with a link to where to buy one.
For the material - it looks like they use 70% polyester and 30% cotton according to this page
https://view.publitas.com/p222-2684/annin-2023-commercial-catalog/page/11
You could also ask the flag company what they recommend as well (if independent).

Did you read this?
Since you don't know about it - I would guess someone else asked for the relay like there are Twitter relays on other servers.

Yeah - a few methods described in this page using the find command
https://www.baeldung.com/linux/iterate-files-with-spaces-in-names
This page suggests defining $IFS (as well as a few other methods)
https://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/handling-filenames-with-spaces-in-bash.html
Plenty of options available.
Two stories from "Not the Bee"
First, it appears that 90yo Diane Feinstein has given power of attorney to her daughter. She can't handle a personal property dispute related to her late husband's estate but CAN handle voting in the Senate just fine. SMH.
https://notthebee.com/article/memphis-road-crew-goes-viral-for-painting-road-line-over-dead-raccoon/
A dead raccoon gets a stripe by a road crew in Memphis TN. Why they don't run a street sweeper before the paint truck is beyond me.
End note - a raccoon was painted 11 years ago in PA.
The Manhattan Contrarian has some comments about recent NY Times editorial decisions.
Where The NY Times dedicates the full first page to the Trump indictment and buries any mention of Pinocchio Joe bribery as "whataboutism" on page 11.
I'm pretty sure I would not be suitable as a NYT editor.
Not covered by the MDM
Odd that we have these "warmest days ever" but no one notices the sunspot activity at the same time.
Link at the end to a LONG list of stories and videos about issues with "climate change". I will note that some of the videos are "not available" - the account associated was terminated by YouTube.
TIL - right to left override (RLO) handling in MS products
https://krebsonsecurity.com/2023/08/teach-a-man-to-phish-and-hes-set-for-life/
So we have a phishing campaign that uses RLO to make a file appear to be named "lme.pdf" when it actually is named "fdp.eml". That leads to a fake MS login page.
Brian Krebs noted this issue first in 2011 so it isn't new. Repeats a few suggestions near the end (don't click on links, go to the site manually) as well.

Hmm. The guy on the left got interviewed by a Scottish news reporter
Odd that big tech companies collect a LOT of your data but doesn't retain their own
This looks at a couple incidents in San Francisco
- Uber mysteriously took three years to find records of drivers in the area of a car / bicycle accident
- a Lime scooter rider going the wrong way ran into a bicycle - again the company can't find out who did it
Alex Berenson commentary about the New York Times
https://alexberenson.substack.com/p/the-new-york-times-has-lost-its-mind
A recent article about the House censorship meeting called the issue "thorny".
Yes - misinformation is protected by the First Amendment.
Never - is it appropriate for the government to suppress falsehoods.
Let's remind people that lying on financial matters or fraud are criminal acts and you can get thrown in jail because of them. Speech is free but can have consequences.
