Today I bought what I thought were limes, but they were Thai green oranges (som cheng). Regardless, they were excellent with soda and my $15.50 AUD (369 baht) bottle of vodka. #drinkstr

Complete truth.

I literally fell asleep in my dessert, the dude was so boring... He had to wake me up and then I apologised, wiped the bits of cake off my face, paid for my share of the meal and went home. In hind-sight, scheduling a date after 14hrs of solid travel was probably not a good idea.

Today's snack post.

Sun Bite brand, grilled lobster in yuzu sauce. These are called Grain Waves in Australia, but these ones are a lot less dense and less cracker-like than the ones back home.

The flavour was strong! Very yuzu (but more teriyaki to me) heavy with a seafood edge. Could only eat 5 at a time as the flavour was so intense. The pack lasted 4 snack breaks so that was a win.

Calbee brand (I think) Spicy Chicken Carbonara flavoured pea snacks. The fact that the flavour picture looks like tomato sauce, chicken and mushroom spaghetti makes me wonder what the heck they think carbonara is.

If you have had pea snacks before you will know the light, gentle pea flavour that goes with all snacks of this type.

The first snack legit tasted like lightly buttered toast, which I guess could be carbonara adjacent. Then the pea and then the chilli flavour. After 3 snacks it was all pea and chilli and the butter vibe was gone. I did enjoy them but would have liked more of the buttery flavour.
