I live on 14.5 acres in Amish country in Ohio. I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits & sheep. I’ve planted cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, mulberries, paw paws, apples, pears & nectarines. I garden (badly) but I am learning more every year. I work remotely for a bank as a mortgage underwriter- fingers crossed I am still doing that when you read this. I hunt on my land - have gotten 5 deer since I moved out here. Into everything homesteading.

What is significant about March 8 & women?

Yep, looks like we might be delayed just the one week though. I did finally get to see my neighbors maple sugar operation though & taste some hot syrup right out of the filter. That’s still a win in my book

A little bit. This might be it for the year though

We were going to slaughter a sheep, but now it’s too warm, gotta catch the next cool cycle now

Morning Nostriches

Going to be 50 tomorrow, rest of the snow will be gone. It’s mud season in the pasture.

Going to hit the dairy, the seed store & the local produce shop today.

Thanks Maria - got a nice dusting of snow, but it won’t stick around long

Yes & no. When it’s busy there’s bonuses & OT. But my base salary is more than enough to keep me stacking sats! That said I well prefer busy. Day goes faster, I earn my base through hard work etc

Does anyone? I mean has anyone looked at their stack & said I’m done? Is that a thing

Morning Nostriches

Loan mine was dead yesterday, don’t have high hopes for a wild run today, but maybe I’m wrong.

Got out on the deck for some early morning sunlight on my face, but it’s still pretty cold out there & I am apparently a big baby so there’s that.

Bonus pic is sunrise this morning, it’s always more stunning this time of the year before the leaves come in.
